SAAB JA37 Viggen, Tarangus 1/48

Recommended Posts

When it rains it pours...

Here is a second Viggen, this time it is Petter Blå (blue). I was a JA37 from the F16 wing at Uppsala that got some special attention.

Like the previous it has CMK reverser paddles, Master pitot tube, Maestro decals, canards, PE and wheels.
I mixed the blue pain from 1 part oxford blue and two parts pale blue and the yellow is german RLM 04.

Ok loads of pics again, and a bit better edited this time....not perfekt but better :D

Sweden isn't exactly known for their anniversary schemes :P

Beautiful choice of schemes to do!  Very nice job you have done here, great paint job and I like that there is still a bit of subtle weathering you did, which looks right.

Thanks :D it's hard to make a clean, single color scheme come alive and not look toylike.

Such a nice scheme that could not be done justice with the old Airfix kit!

I was not aware of any modern decals for this scheme! 🇸🇪

:partytime:

Thanks :D Maestro have them..but annoyingly they didn't provide a side view of the scheme, had to look up refs online:P

Maestro?

I found these now:

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/red-bolt-decals-rbd4820-saab-ja37-viggen--1281434

there is also lots of Moose Repulic decals, but not for this scheme!

(I also think Syhart should re-release their Monster Viggen!)

Yeah, Red Bolt are the same as Maestro :)

I'd love the "Black Knight" scheme...it's seriously wicked in black and gold!-

“Hello,Jan” - My fullest compliments to you on your magnificent Viggen build. The special scheme is beautiful and so is the way you’ve created it.

I built the 1/48 scale Airfix Spitfire PR19 in Swedish markings and have the Draken and Lansen to add to the Swedish lineup.

A pleasure to see your work.😊👍
