first US F-35As arriving at Lakenheath ?

The first 495th jet AF-302 is in systems integration/testing at Lockheed-Martins Dallas-Forth Worth plant.  Should be flying in a couple of weeks.  It'll be a while before all the 495th jest have been built or delivered.

That will be good if there are two squadrons of F-35s and two of F-15Es at LN. Be nice to have two different USAF jets operating in the UK again, I still miss the Warthogs and F-111s!

493FS will convert to the F-35A in due course. They have some F-15's being through deep maintenance in the US these days, and there is speculation that they may not return to the unit, as part of the run-up to also the 493FS converting. But for now, only the 495FS, with first aircraft scheduled to arrive in December -21
