The Spadgent
First post of the new year. Still no RFIs in the bag. π¬ lots of hurdles over Christmas. Covid stopped Christmas dinner with the family literally an hour before we were about to receive everyone. My folks are getting rather frail so Iβve been running around a lot looking after them leaving precious little time for other things. Itβs nothing too bad simply life throwing what it has in store in my general direction. I did manage to bag a PS5 from the wife so I did spend a some rest time playing video games. Β Resident evil Village is wonderful. ππ€ With life slowly getting back on its feet, I wondered into BritModeller to remind me of why I love modelling. Lots of lovely work been going on but I think it was reading Billβs @perduβs Helicopter thread that got my juices flowing again. So today after fixing some curtains at my parents turned into a bench day. π€© The Demon has had its post shade. Tough to see in that shot but you can just see where I sprayed the smoke. Really picked out the panels and lines.Β The wings Iβm happy with too. A top coat added and weβre ready for decals. I forgot how therapeutic these can be. π There arenβt that many decals so in no time.Β Even the wheel ones got used. Pipes got a blast of primer!Β Another top coat on the main parts and weβre in the Flory Zone. Thatβll need to dry. Sorry for the snails pace but owt is better than nowt. All comments welcome. Happy modelling chums. Β Johnny.

Thanks. I flory individual parts usually when itβs tough to get to said parts after gluing in place. Bi planes for instance are tricky buggers to get in all the nooks and crannies so a before flory is my preferred path. Also the struts are so small and delicate. The Spadgent
Hey guys. Thanks for all the lovely feedback. Itβs so nice to be here again. I really need to manage my time better so I get more solid bench hours in. π Luckily more has been done on the mini Demon.Β The nose gun / stick has been scratched and a little sight popped on. Should look ok painted and in place. The Flory got knocked right back leaving just the amount I wanted. The painted areas got a light Mat coat. Under. And over. Similar case with the main airframe. I had glossed to seal the flory then masked the nose to keep the treatments separate. Iβm happy with that. The struts started going on. Tail first. Then the UC frame. One part at a time. The detail on the wheels popped out and is looking pretty good.Β The rest of the UC got glued and jiggled into place. I donβt believe the kit comes with clear parts so I made a little screen using thin plasticard cut to shape. Also added the belts from all that time ago. Construction is coming together now. A few bits still yet to have started but if I can get the main bulk to sit pretty Iβm 80% of the way there. slightly unorthodox method for fitting the top wing but Iβm sure itβll be fine. We shall see. π€π€π€ Thanks for popping in.Β Take care and as always. Happy modelling. Β Johnny. π
AdrianMF
The wing struts slope outwards as they go up. Looks like you might have to do some re-jigging. On my Airfix one, the tops of the struts are 103mm apart at the top and 85mm apart at the bottom. Β Sorry to bear bad tidings. You canβt see it really on the pic but the pegs are holding the struts in the sloped position. I have roughly glued them holding the airframe above so only a few mm wiggle to be done. π I remember when you built yours. Β 1 hour ago, corsaircorp said: Ooooh, My Dear Spad is back !!
