So nice to see a Tornado going to a good home instead of the scrap heap. We didn’t do too many museum jobs when I was on JARTS.

It helps having an AVM on site as patron of the society :)

That looks like a decent collection building up there.

So is JARTS what was Crash & Smash ?

Yes mainly and slightly no.

Crash and smash was all RAF moving all fixed wing.

MASU was all Navy moving all rotary wing.

When St Athan was earmarked as the new school & Gosport needed more space both units where joined as essentially they did exactly the same job and a new home was found for us at Boscombe Down and we all became JARTS.

Lucky for me I started on MASU, posted to Crash & became JARTS. I have the t-shirts 😂

Nice to see. Im sure there was a GR.4 at Coventry last time I was there?

Must be nice getting someone else to do the transport. The museum I work at has had to pay to move aircraft from The RAF and USAF.
