Dereknf
This is the new Airfix Chipmunk in 1/48 scale. Nice little kit but the cockpit canopy gave me a bit of grief. It comes in three pieces with a little jig to ensure the right angles. The wings also needed a bit of bracing to stop a distinct droop on the outer sections. It's finished with Hataka acrylics and an Xtradecal sheet slightly modified to represent WZ875, the first Chipmunk I flew in at RAF Turnhouse in 1976. 20210926_210011 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20210926_210017 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20210926_210024 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20210926_210030 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
dnl42
That's a fine addition to your display cabinet--something you flew. For my part, I could only include common carriers...that I sat in...

Duncan B
I've been tempted to get one to do this very aircraft. I guess we were probably both at Turnhouse that day Derek, was that the day the Ark Royal (the proper one, not the puddle jumper Cruiser) was in the Firth of Forth? I was thrilled to get a bird's eye view of her. Well done on your build and being able to find your Logbook. Duncan B
Dereknf
I think we probably were. My dad took this of me climbing in that day. Looks a bit dreich though. 3-67-476 DHC-1 Chipmunk T10 WZ875 12 AEF, RAF Turnhouse, July 1977 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
