Hello! :)
I am now building a T-72 Trumpeter tank. It will be in M1 version with some modifications characteristic for Polish Army. I am adding some extras to the kit:
- PE parts from Eduard (for Tamiya)
- Barrel from Aber
- Clasps from Aber
- Road priority symbols from Toro Model
- Workable tracks from Trumpeter

- Towing cables for T-90 from Eureka
- Toro Model Decals
So far I managed to make the whole bottom. Although it may seem that most of it is already done there is still a lot of work to do with the turret.

I especially like the brush guards for the headlamps. Did you make them yourself?

Yes, I made them myself. It's just 0.4mm wire and super glue but it took me a lot of time, trial and error. That's why I am very glad that you paid attention to this detail. But for me it had to be done, because as you can see in the picture below the kit lamp guards were awfully thick.

Hi All :)

First steps with the turret. The factory wiring was cut off, the casting texture made Tamia Extra Thin and I seated and modified the mantlet cover. The piece given by the manufacturer is missing many key details.

Using Green Stuff I changed the shape of the cover to more match what we have on the real T-72.

The fitting of the Aber barrel and everything sits as it should - I can move on :phew:

Hi :)

I made the main wiring and installed the smoke grenades which were also connected to the power supply ;)

I also redesigned the sighting system. I punched a hole in the wall and inserted a glass from a DVD and behind the glass an imitation of optical system made of metallized coloured paper.

I understand that there has been a lot of work with PE, but obviously, it has really paid off.

This work with PE parts is always a bit of a challenge but also a great pleasure if you make a vehicle from your country's army and want to make it as good as you can. By the way, I have never done such a difficult thing in modelling as this Aber's barrel. But once I did it, the satisfaction was enormous, so I am very glad that you pay attention to such details. It is very motivating that you can still see them even though they do not shine so much anymore. :thanks:

Hello,

The model got 2 washes. The first with Tamiya Panel Liner Black, the next with AK Dark Brown Wash al over the surface. Then dot filter with Abteilug Light Mud, Earth, Faded Green and some red paint. Now the surface is ready for dusting.
