I understand this choice as they are iconic foreign cars for you !

Being from the Channel Islands i have a love of all things French,i have had a couple of Deux Chevaux's before one was a lovely burgandy and black Charleston...The other was all red,my son was around 5 at the time and he was convinced it had something to do with Postman Pat...

I guess there must have been a US car event yesterday as I followed a tri-Chevy and C3 Corvette on the M3/M25.  The Corvette didn’t seem so big amongst modern cars though the Chev loomed over the SUVs!

A short distance further on an even bigger mid 50s Cadillac heading the other way on the A3…

Oddly rare considering its a modern Ford, a  tatty Mk1 Scorpio saloon in I would say dark grey rather than black, on an L- prefix. Not special? It was a Cosworth 24v. Driver looked old enough to have had it new on his retirement, well done to him if so!

Hi everybody :)

Today there was an exhibition of many old and semi-recent cars at the "Fête de la Locomotion" in the town's park of Richelieu's City (founded by the Cardinal Duke of Richelieu in the 17th century) and I went there for a while with my family
I was lucky enough to be able to admire and photograph (not always from very close, alas) some of these vehicles .

A nice selection, thanks for posting.   My dad had three Peugeots in the '70s, which looking back was quite unusual over here.   I rather like that 404.

The Mustang is a '67, the Corvette appears to be '64 and the Studebaker is a '63. :)

Just back from a trip to Scotland. 1620 miles in a Mk2, Rev 2 MR2. So, from memory:

Jag XK120

Lancia Fulvia

100E Prefect, lowered and wide wheels.

a Blue Mk2 MR2 - Hooray!!!

Several Morgan's

Also several Porsches

And also, four MX5's in a row - must have been an outing.

Green MGB, closely followed by a Scimitar.

A Street Sweeping Lorry - What! But it's registration LE55 DRT - who bought that one.

And, most interesting, a Red MR2 MK1, I passed in the dual carriageway near Skipton. It seemed to be driven by a grey haired gentleman. I thought he needed some recognition for what it was, so I slowed down, let him come up on the outside lane, then stuck my hand out the window with thumbs up, but...it was driven by a white haired woman wearing glasses who showed no recognition of what I'd just done. Was she even aware of how rare her car was ('E' reg). Bizarre, but a good looking Mk1.

Eight, yes Eight "Road closed" which took me miles out of my way. At one point, I had to go back into Montrose because I just couldn't get out the way I wanted. One of the "Road closed" signs also sported "No Alternative Route" - very helpful.

No photos for any of that, but this was parked at The Boundary in Grantham.

Sorry, it was parked up against a hedge so I couldn't get a better one of the front with its twin power bulges, but...that interior, I bet that's not original.

Out in the Draywagon early this afternoon and heading North on the A1 near Newark, Wafting (just the right word) along at 55, a '67 Lincoln Continental.

Not the shiniest car around, but looking rather good in black. Gave the driver a thumbs up as we passed.

And, as I got home later, on the A631 a Riley Elf or the Wolseley version. Looked nice and had white racing number stickers on the doors.

Memory forgot the five sports cars in convoy south of Grantown-on-Spey. no idea what they were, road  was too twisty to divert my attention, but the last one was in JPS colours, therefore probably Lotus.

Not really my thing, but heading south on the A23 this morning, an uninterrupted close convoy of (at least) 10 Audi TTs. There were a few stragglers too, but the run of them all together looked quite impressive.

Then, taking up most of the local BP, a tidy but faded 1955 Cadillac 2-door in white with black roof. A (classic) mini pulled in as they were leaving, it would have been interesting to have had them at adjacent pumps.

Into town this arvo to pick up my son, the buses a few & far between on a Sunday & rather than have him cool his heels for an hour before the next one, we normally run in & pick him up, about 15 minutes, & always interesting cars to spot, today the most notable were a HR Holden panel van, about 1966-67 vintage, a lot like this one to look at,  I learned to drive in an HR Holden, but this panel van was lowered with some big bling wheels, a far cry from the 13" crossplies our one had. :D Then just down the road a 1957 Ford Ranchero pickup, definitely not a local originally.

It looks cool looking back but really it was the boringest thing ever, bench front seats in lovely textured vinyl, seatbelts for the driver & out outside passenger, diagonal only, pity about the kid in the middle. :( 3 on the tree (3 speed column gear change) no synchro on 1st, but you could light up the back wheels if the rear end wasn't too loaded, it would drift quite nicely too. :) I'd love to have one now but then, I couldn't wait to get shot of it, especially when the old man replaced it with a Mk III Cortina 2000GT, now that WAS cool. :)

Bet it wasn't as boring as an 1100cc 4 door Mk1 Escort....

...the only way you could light up the back wheels on an 1100 Escort was to set fire to them....!! 🤣

A couple of interesting & slightly quirky ones the last couple of days. First up was a bright red 1973 Ford Capri, that by itself would have been cool enough but this was running some big & wide rear rubber with small & skinny front rubber. The rear axle peeking out under a raised back end looked nothing like I'd ever seen under a Capri & when I got home to check the rego website, it quoted the engine as being 5000ccs. Hmmm, a Capri on a mission.

Then next was a VW beetle, listed as a 1967 VW 1300 but then in the specs below having its CCs listed as 1600. Mid Blue metallic, lowered & big diameter bling wheels, though not sure if that was actual or just fathers day mags. I do wish people would leave these classics alone. ;) :D

Yeah the Kenworth was nice, the plate was pretty cool to: NT (Nothern Territory) SNW MAN, referring to the nick name of the truck.

Now, if that came up behind me in my MR2....😳 I think my rearview would be roughly in line of those six lights.

They back the trailer under the dumper/ load , then lift the trailer up to clear the load above the ground  .
