Great photo's especially the Kenworth unit on it's own...

Yeah the Kenworth was nice, the plate was pretty cool to: NT (Nothern Territory) SNW MAN, referring to the nick name of the truck.

I didn't think there was much interest but I will post pics when I manage to photograph them. Mostly ore and cattle hereabouts.

Please do, I can‘t be the only one on here getting excited about big rigs!

Australia holds a special place in our hearts and this was our third family trip down under (fourth for me). This time we stayed in WA only, but on the two previous trips we also went to NT, VIC and SA. On the highway up north between Adelaide and Alice Springs we saw plenty of both fuel and cattle trains. The highways around Perth were actually pretty good for road train spotting too, with plenty of old and well used Kenworths, Macks, Peterbilt etc. Unfortunately I was the family chauffeur, so no chance to take any photos.

On my first trip to Australia in 1991 together with a mate, we also visited QLD, both Brisbane and Cairns. I google map‘ed your place, it looks beautiful !! Not far from Cairns I think?

Putting some over price diesel in the Isuzu the other day was livened considerably by this at a neighbouring pump.

A1964 3.8 variety. As it pulled away it was joined by a very tidy looking Triumph TR.3, I was too slow to get a rego or a photo, the green mist of envy has obscured my view. :D

Moments later the E-type was replaced by this wee job.

A 1966 version of the venerable Anglebox. Driven by a guy I have known for years, it is original & gets driven on a regular basis.

Loving that E Type!  Great to see one without the usual chrome wires - makes it look much more sinister and aggressive.

Btw, Nelson is a lovely part of the world.  Mrs H grew up in Takaka, and her parents now live in Murchison, so we flew in to Nelson and I certainly want to go back.   Is the WOW museum still going?  When we were last out there (end of 2009), there seemed to be loads of Triumph 2000s and Hillman Hunters around - is that still the case?

Early afternoon in Melton Mowbray, I spotted a yellow TR7  following behind the draywagon.

Later in South Lincoln, a small Triumph convoy. In font, a 1300/1500 in flat blue paint on Cosmic alloys. Behind that a Herald and then an Acclaim.

They all had large 'Team Triumph' stickers on the side. Perhaps they'd been on a pilgrimage to Rimmer Brothers around the corner?

I think They were a bunch of US enthusiasts that were being hosted in the UK and had been visiting Rimmers,  I didn't talk to them but the impression was that they were there to talk about parts supply, as some Rimmers guys were with them, they were at the Bull in Bracebridge having lunch that afternoon.

The WOW collection got packed up with the onset of Covid, but the adjoining classic car collection has been expanded, I keep meaning to have a visit, this might be the nudge I need. There are still a surprising number of old Brit cars about, I frequently spot more than I can remember afterwards. :( :D Should you get back this way feel free to get in touch.

So yesterday (Saturday) morning I went out with 2 of my friends to do a public information film shooting, then decided to hang around a little bit more for some car spotting. Then this appeared.

IMG-4258.jpg

Holy smokes, the first Ferrari SF90 Stradale in my hometown. Already tuned, up from 986hp standard output to a scarcely believable 1183hp. Afterwards this also made an appearance

IMG-4270.jpg

An original Mercedes 190E Cosworth 2.5. Not a 2.3 since only the 2.5 received the optional Almandine Red colour.

Earlier on the way to my latest jab a really lovely cream with brown vinyl roof Jaguar XJ-C cruising nicely at 80 on the M4 (just keeping up with the traffic, officer!)

Then after leaving the motorway a nice classic Mini Cooper Sportspack.

Hi everybody :)

Today there was an exhibition of many old and semi-recent cars at the "Fête de la Locomotion" in the town's park of Richelieu's City (founded by the Cardinal Duke of Richelieu in the 17th century) and I went there for a while with my family

Hope you'll enjoy :)

The Morgan will be 1990(ish), with that H prefix registration plate.

Always loved Panhards of that era, and '02 series Peugeots are another favourite!

Many thanks for sharing the pics!

I don't think the Morgan is a Plus 8 for a coupe of reasons; it's on wire wheels where I think I've only ever seen Plus 8s on alloys, also the rear bodywork seems to have back seats which was a feature if the 4/4.

The car collection is certainly impressive!  No idea when we are next heading over, but thank you, and will do!

Sorry, couldn't resist Vince! Do agree though they both look very nice!

But I'll have the red 356 Speedster - even though I'm suspicious it's original with those arches, it's a lovely looking thing!

I understand this choice as they are iconic foreign cars for you !

Frankly, the 2CV particularly is ideal for a bucolic drive in the countryside, especially if it's a convertible.

But they don't make me dream, because I saw dozen of thousands of them since my childhood, and drove them regularly (my wife owned a green 2CV and my brother a cream Renault 4).
