This morning near Oundle, a mid '60's red Mustang Coupe with stripes and stickers.

Later in Maxey near Peterborough, an early '60's American pickup in rough ( 'Patina'd) condition but sounding great!

There’s a new car gathering place not far from me opened up and me and a mate had a ride there yesterday . Here’s a few choice cars ( and bikes ) that were there at the time .

And inside is this beauty . Although rebuilt , it’s one of the original 7 London - Mexico cars but was damaged beyond repair in Yugoslavia en route . It was rebuilt and  used as a press car while the winning car was returned from Mexico .

Nice pictures, @Windy37 I wonder if the location is close to me? I'm just North of Lincoln.

I'll take that Mk1 Escort, BTW.

It's Sherburn Elmet , near Selby . There's been some money spent on the venue , more than just a cafe .

It looks like it. I've been out that way before for work. I'll keep an eye out for it next time. Thanks.

Yesterday, an orange Alfasud! with no visible rust!

Back when I was in the mob, our BENGO (Baby Engineering Officer) bought a rust free one. And they weren't even all that old then.

On the way back to Odiham it got wiped out by a BMW which was avoiding a road sign in the fast lane.

Oddly, the Beamer was being driven by a WRAF Officer on her way back to RAFG!

Spotted Friday/Saturday near Manchester (If I can remember them all). No pictures as I was in the car.

Aston Martin DBX - Dark metallic green

Caterham 7 - They are so small!

A very tidy 3 series cabrio - first shape.

Some kind of Ferrari in red

Dodge Charger in black (20nn year)

Cheers,

Alan.

P.S. If I remember the others, I'll update this.

Yesterday in Chelmsford, just in passing as I was walking, but a gold with brown roof Citroen DS19. Might even be the same one I saw a few weeks back. No, it's not, it was white!

That reminds me,

Including all the others above, I saw:

An immaculate original Mini in pale green and a very sad looking Citroen DS21 in need of much love...

Cheers,

Alan.

Couple of old Jags from in and around Malton this weekend. Well, I say Jag, but I'm 99.9% sure the SS100 is a Suffolk Sportscars example. The E-type looked very nice though...

Other highlights included a very nice red Mini van coming the other way down the A1, a tidy Triumph Herald, and a 2022 Lotus Emira in black (which looks a LOT like a baby McLaren in the flesh) at Grantham services. But the Lotus was completely overshadowed by something totally uncarlike - the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster flew almost overhead as I was pulling into the services on it's way back from the Jubilee flypast.

Yesterday I was at the Sandringham Pageant of Motoring.  A huge gathering of classic vehicles in the grounds of the Royal estate.

Amongst the many unusual cars, I spotted these particular rarities;

An Edsel. Never seen one of these mythical cars before.

And a Saab Sonnet

That is one beautiful Cresta!  My father owned one for a few years back in the early '60s and I've always loved them, rustbuckets though they were.

As for the other two, Beauty and the Beast, anyone?  Both the Sonnet and the Edsel are equally rare and in excellent condition but while the Sonnet has a beauty all it's own the Edsel is, well, plug ugly.

Saw one of these on the 101 freeway here in So. California yesterday, same color as this red one in the ref photo below that I pulled off the web but not as nice condition-wise ….. an American Motors AMX (‘68 or ‘69?)! I would love to have one of these in that cool red-white-blue paint scheme.
