but a pale brown metallic S1 roadster admittedly looked nice

Sorry, forgot to mention. Whilst in Ireland, saw two E-types near Letterkenny from our coach. One soft-top, one coupe, both carrying (racing) numbers on their doors.

My Grandad had a brand new Princess . I remember it being very wide inside compared to the Allegro Estate my dad was running at the time . They were both big Kennings clients and both were eventually swapped for a Triumph Acclaim and a Maxi 1750 HL respectively  . Those were the days  !!

A couple of nice cars seen out on my cycle ride today.

Early red Spitfire, not sure if it was a Spifire4 or a Mk2, as it was on a 65 plate either possible.   To be honest I was dazzled by the chrome wires, I should have confiscated the car from the owner for such poor choice.

The other car was a plain (or rather,  fairly original looking) Mk2 RS2000 in very striking lime green.

Took the Fastback out first a run with my son this afternoon only a short one  after toiling inbthe garden,  we saw a lovey 1971 Lancia Fulvia Zagato on the A259 heading out of New Romney >> Folkestone,  looked absolutely lovely,  I don't have any pics unfortunately.

Spotted yesterday at Cadwell Park.  I had a chat with the owner, and he has a 1600 Pinto under the bonnet with a 5 speed 'box, Mk2 Escort struts, etc. and  RS Alloys.

I was down in deepest Suffolk today. In the middle of nowhere, one of those houses where they kept every car they ever owned.

On the front, by the road, a red Marina Coupe is being devoured by the hedge (and rust).

The Toyota every time.  Mercedes seem to have lost their way a bit with their styling in recent years.  Is it me or is there something well wrong with the Merc's grille centrepiece?

So, be honest this time, which is the better looker?

Absolutely no contest - and it isn't that bloated German thing next to the pretty Toyota! Looks like you could park the MR2 in its engine bay!

I thought someone's nicked the badge?

Just gone back and zoomed up the photo and, yes, it's has the centrepiece removed and not very prettily, either.

OK, it's not very rare or anything, but it is in very good nick for its age, leather seats and all.

Wouldn't you just love to cruise down the Autoroute to the South of France in it?

Wasn't planning to do spotting last week but it turned out there are some good stuffs:

IMG-0836.jpg

Mercedes-AMG C63 Black still looks menacing even after 10 years

IMG-08482.jpg

New 992 Targa 4S seems to be everywhere in Indonesia, selling like hotcakes

IMG-0857.jpg

488 GTB with Misha Design kit. Not pretty, if I'm honest.

My favourite of the day, the Focus RS Mk. II. We didn't get any Focus RS officially here in Indonesia, so this is pretty special. And it's in my favourite colour too.

One from yesterday on the A444, a "patina" (ick) Beetle, L-reg IIRC.  Lowered with polished Fuchs style wheels, but somewhat let down by the Herbie decor - yes, racing stripes and 53 roundels.   If the rust was faked, even worse 🧐.

Leaving work today, and in amongst the usual cars whose owners are preparing for a night out I saw this:

52102533802_7717491686_b.jpg

It had GT350 decals on the side, but what I'm not able to say is whether it's a real GT350 or (more likely) a bog-standard '60s Mustang dressed up to look like a GT350. At least I got it on dashcam, unlike last weekend's Aston DB6 in it's natural habitat (petrol station).

Looks like it's in a movie style car chase and just backed in there as the cops race past in hot pursuit , while failing to spot where he went !
