Spot of the day, Part 5

It’s amazing how many grey Fergies are still around and used . My neighbour has 3 in his garage now , but has done up several in the last few years . The classic tractor scene is huge covering all eras , which for me coming from a farming family is great .

Hi all possibly the last visit to Headcorn for a retros meet this year, although may be one more.  A great turn out with lots of vehicles today.  Not only that, two other Type 3s turned up too.

More observations from this weekend on top of the fergies:

big Healey - red over cream

2 dark blue Mk5 Cortinas

beigey yellow early XJS

Russet (poo) MGB roadster

red TR3A

White Shelby GT500S, 20teens type but not the latest

i guess this haul reflects the late sunny weather, I expect spots will become less frequent as the dark and weather close in for the year…

and steel 5 1/2 J's - nice!!! I love to see an old Cortina on those.

But the panel gap between the door and the front wing of the Mk1 Escort is a bit shonky.

Saw a collection of movie prop cars from FVF movie at our local street fair in Thousand Oaks, CA today. I got gipped out of attending a Father’s Day car show a few months ago for medical reasons so this was a nice consolation prize, there were a bunch of other nice cars I’ll post as well.

Thanks Chris, but despite the awful panel gaps I'll have the Mk1 Escort thanks....(or maybe that cracking Pontiac!!)

Apart from not having a black bonnet, the Min looks almost the same colours as ours, that red looking very similar. On ours incidentally, the previous owner resprayed it in RAL3003 - would have been more appropriate on a VW I'd have thought....!! 🤣)

Keith

Edit -sorry Chris I appear to have quoted your pic from Gary's reply....!!

No worries Keith, Ruby Red yes a lovely shade, my mate has a cracking , ratty 1962 bug in that colour,  looks great all lowered but he is changing to more of a Rally style now. I saw the Mini and thought of you.

There was a black Mk2 Escort van there today, no pics as there were too many to get round in the time we had today, but he followed us out and when he got the chance overtook, and this thing flew past us with phenomenal acceleration,  curious when engine it had, looked good with flared arches and chromed mini lites.

I don’t normally expect to see much of interest on the Monday morning commute, but today an immaculate DeLorean DMC12 passed the other way!

Thanks @nearsightedjohn for those, a very eclectic line up with some cool metal on display. I like the lines of the Cougar, 4th last, but what the heck is that behemoth in the last photo? 😲

Steve.

No idea and no one around to ask when I walked by it yesterday. Here’s a view from the rear, maybe someone here knows something about it? I suspect it’s a custom of some type commissioned by one of those dudes with WAY TOO MUCH $$$$!

A red Rolls Royce 20 4 door convertible, which looked to have broken down, accompanied by a green Morris Cowley Bullnose 4 door, also with the top down.

Sunday before last, a Mk 1 (Bullit) Mustang fastback in metallic red.

Around 11 this morning I saw a yellow supercar (McLaren 570S, I think) turning into a residential area of town.  I only caught a brief glimpse, so I'm not 100% sure what I was.  It certainly looked out of place in Sleaford, though!
