Hi all,

I decided that with my week off from work that I would get rid of the small, damp, rotten shed in the gargen and replace with something a bit more fit for purpose.

So, this is what I started with...

Then a bit of progress...

And when the ground was clear...

That was enough for one day.

By lunchtime on Tuesday I'd got to this stage.

More to come later

So, end of day 2 as I need to go and pick my boy up...

Base is down and level and I'm starting to get the floor down. Hoping to get at least 1 wall built tomorrow as well as finishing off the floor.

And the good news is so far none of this has cost me a penny 😁

Watching with interest, as me and the Missus are currently sat in the garden trying to design our new garden room/work room etc.

Rick.

Happy to help then Rick.

I have no building experience, I'm just making it up as I go. Although I did do this for my son last year..

Friday! Doesn't look like a lot of progress today but had some fiddly bits to do, some painting of the back wall and finally had to spend some money on the cladding.

This is where I'm leaving it for today, the sun is out and I've got a thirst on for some reason 🍺

Thought I was reading RetroRides there for a minute!

Always noice to see a good shed going up.

Your apple tree is doing better than ours, we got one apple this year after the tree exhausted its self last year with the most it has ever produced!

Excellent re use of materials. No point just buying a new shed when you have the skill and material to do this stuff.

Thanks Pete.

The framework is an old stable block from our local farm.

The flooring is from pallets.

The glazing is all miss-measures from work.

Always better to reuse than waste things I think

I hope so. Essex can get blo very cold in the winter (ask me how I know)!!

John.

If you want cold, spend the winter up here, on The Backside Of Beyond. -40C is not that unusual.

A visual demonstration of just how cold it can be:

That's why I am glad that I didn't get the job that I applied for at the Atherbasca Tar Sands.

What happens in our house if I accidentally change the channel when the wife's watching Escape to the Chateau.
