jhutchi
Hi all, I decided that with my week off from work that I would get rid of the small, damp, rotten shed in the gargen and replace with something a bit more fit for purpose. So, this is what I started with... Then a bit of progress... And when the ground was clear... That was enough for one day. By lunchtime on Tuesday I'd got to this stage. More to come later
jhutchi
So, end of day 2 as I need to go and pick my boy up... Base is down and level and I'm starting to get the floor down. Hoping to get at least 1 wall built tomorrow as well as finishing off the floor. And the good news is so far none of this has cost me a penny 😁
jhutchi
Most of the floor is down now... and the edges are trimmed off. Next I built the back wall And started cladding it...
Tzulscha
I like the weathering. Don't forget to add just a touch of rust around the nail heads. 3

Happy to help then Rick. I have no building experience, I'm just making it up as I go. Although I did do this for my son last year.. jhutchi
Friday! Doesn't look like a lot of progress today but had some fiddly bits to do, some painting of the back wall and finally had to spend some money on the cladding. This is where I'm leaving it for today, the sun is out and I've got a thirst on for some reason 🍺 Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Malc2
Thought I was reading RetroRides there for a minute! Always noice to see a good shed going up. Your apple tree is doing better than ours, we got one apple this year after the tree exhausted its self last year with the most it has ever produced! M. jhutchi
Thanks Malc, this is a bit low compared to our normal yield, 2 years ago we were giving them away free outside the house!
Pete in Lincs
Excellent re use of materials. No point just buying a new shed when you have the skill and material to do this stuff.

The glazing is all miss-measures from work. Always better to reuse than waste things I think

If you want cold, spend the winter up here, on The Backside Of Beyond. -40C is not that unusual.
