Mire like Argentina vs itself, economy- wise... Any news? Maybe the Russian Checkmate fits the bill in 10 years time.. I think that all Latin America maybe fight with economic troubles (mainly Brazil, the worse in the economic indicator).
Slater
Seems like the JF-17 would be just the thing for cash-strapped governments.

But long term sustainability? Is the RD-93 easy to maintain? How much does it differ from the MiG-29's RD-33? Service life? Dependency on China and Pakistan and Russia might not be seen favorable with all cash strapped governments either But then not too many options out there either!
Moggy
Here's an interesting article on JF-17 quality https://www.globaldefensecorp.com/2021/10/18/pakistan-quietly-grounded-all-jf-17-block-i-fighters/ Dinky doesn't quite cover it.. 🤢 With Putler on the rampage any notions of buying Russian are gone for good - if it ever was a viable option 🙄 The PRC has excellent relations with Argentina. Ultimately the Argentine Air Force needs an interceptor force like any other nation and has a right to it. We'll see what happens. Slater
Sounds like Pakistan would be better off with second-hand F-5E's. 1

Grounding a fleet has happened to the best, also the F-35 was grounded more than once... I'd assume the stabilator cracks are fixable with a little engineering and some braces....some things only get discovered while using the stuff! The F-18 got its LERX plates also for that reason, and the SuperHornet got pylons toed some degrees outwards Still the JF-17 capabilities are far ahead of plain F-5Es...
