Sharkmouth on a silver people carrier on the M3 ???

Yesterday, Sunday 19th October, we were driving on the M3 towards London when saw a silver coloured people carrier (I'm hopeless with car makes) with a large shark mouth and eye on the passenger side forward of the front passenger door.

And coincidentally I'm currently building a 112 squadron Tomahawk with that same sharkmouth design.

The image on that people carrier looked exactly like this.

Of course it's possible that the owner just likes the design or . . . . .

Any ideas?

Mark

I was at the "Lanc & Tank" event at East Kirkby, Lincolnshire a few weeks ago and they had a number of custom-cars attending. One was a black VW Polo (I think) lovingly painted with huge sharkmouths, eyes, RAF Roundels, aircraft ID codes.... you name it, it had it. I thought it looked pretty cool. I'd imagine it gets some attention any place it goes.

Were the codes for a 112 Squadron aircraft?

Good point. I was so distracted by the sharkmouth and pointing it out to my wife (for some reason she wasn't quite as interested as me) that I forgot to look at the number plate.

Is the first one a real car? The image looks photoshopped to me.

Somewhere, I have photos of a fellow model club members car painted in olive drab, with the codes etc of a specific B-24,  which crashed near Chichester,  even had a little top turret on the rear passenger shelf.....

I remember seeing a gloss black Ford Fiesta decked out with 736 NAS markings :P

The vinyl wrap car customising business has generated some fun things.  A Nissan GT-R in IJA Green and hinomaru on the doors...

You  can buy sharkmouth decals (full size) online from the likes of Amazon.

Whether or not it enhances the lines of your Mondeo or Nissan Qashqai is another matter. As for your street cred, well that's another matter entirely.🚘

BL USA ran an ad campaign in the late 60s with a Spitfire camo'ed up with roundels.  I'm not sure if it was just for the ad or a dealer option?

Several have been similarly attired by enthusiasts, obviously my French Blue 1500 was really PRU coloured...
