Hellcat interiors

Hi All,

I'm making an F6F-3 Hellcat and can't find the colour the engine area and bulkhead plus inside front engine cowling is painted. Would it be Zinc chromate yellow,

Here's Martin Waligorski's take from the well-known article on IPMS Stockholm's site:

"The inside of the engine cowling varied throughout the Hellcat production, being Grumman Grey, Interior Green or Zinc Chromate Yellow. Later F6F-5 and had flat black cowling interiors. Other enclosed areas of the fuselage were either Grumman Grey (on early production machines) or Zinc Chromate Yellow."

 

From my own research, it seems the firewall/engine bulkheads were nearly always zinc chromate yellow or green.
