dov
Hallo I want to ask you all, about help for building a perfect Eduard 109 Gustav. The Gustav 6 version I have Brasin cockpit, Engine and weapons and wheels too. 8268 Kit number https://www.eduard.com/out/media/8268.pdf 648 140 Brasin Cockpit https://www.eduard.com/out/media/648140.pdf 648 141 Brasin Engine & Guns https://www.eduard.com/out/media/648141.pdf 648 148 Brasin Gun pods https://www.eduard.com/out/media/648148.pdf 648 149 Brasin wheels https://www.eduard.com/out/media/648149.pdf This is basically all I have. Which marking is absolutly secondary now. The first question is, does anybody have any experience how to install this brasin equipment in the plastic fuselage. How much to grind? I had several times brasin equipment, but noticed a horrible fit or unfit to install anyway. Now, before I loose in vain any sweat, any blood and any tears I ask the community. You understand it, the perfect Gustav I want to create! Thanks in forward for reply. Happy modelling
Duncan B
Well if you are after "The perfect Eduard 109 Gustav" you are starting off with the wrong kit. Kit number 8268 was the original release from Eduard which was all wrong, fuselage dimensions wrong, wings too long, main undercarriage legs too long and the list goes on. It is a very pleasant build for anyone that isn't worried about the many inaccuracies but that doesn't appear to be what you are after. Kit number 8268 A good starting point would be 82111 and onwards. This is the G-6/AS kit number 82163 Duncan B
dov
Thank you I heared on the past, the kit has many flaws. But by reading posts, I never got an overview what is all wrong. Thx
Tokyo Raider
I heard the Fw190 was all wrong, and they retooled that fw190 completely. I did not know the Bf109 was messed up... Can you guys confirm and I will need to compare these sprues because I have most if not all of these kits. ok, I see it on scale mates they changed tooling of the 109's from the 82111 onwards. I don't have any of the early 2014 bf109 kits that were flawed... whew! Edited September 20, 2021 by Tokyo Raider
TempestV
The initial G-6 released circa 2014(?) is overscale and look weird if sat next to a 1/48 Gustav. The re-tooled kits herald from 2016 onwards, and the only niggle is the oversized (height) exhaust stacks. Apart from that they are a joy to build - I'm currently on No 17! cheers, Chris
