Hi All.

Here is another of my completed models.

It is the Eastern Express Convair 990A Coronado with my own 26Decals plus Authentic Airliners windows.

Kit went together really well after cleaning up the parts and can recommend it :)

A beautiful model of what is, in my eyes, a beautiful airplane. Very nicely done.

Thats a wonderful build of a classic.

Great to hear the kit is of good quality.I was thinking of getting one but wasnt sure as I still have another Revell Coronado.

But now I might change my mind and get one.

Beautiful model! And the windows with some partially closed blinds give a disproportionate (related to their size…) impression of 'life'.

Superb work.

Kind regards,

Nice work Ray. I had been trying to persuade myself I don't need one of these as I have an F-RSIN kit and Contrails engines for it and don't think I really need to Coronados, but this is testing my resolve!

Very nice, Ray. Seeing her takes me (and others, I’m sure), back to the 1970s  :)

Wow, Ray- that is just amazing.

In my mind, the Convair 990 is the star-crossed pornstar of jet airliners. You did a splendid job of it. looking at the parts so far, it seems EE really nailed the shape of the plane in ways that other companies  missed the mark.

I've started cutting mine off the sprues and test fitting it. The fit so far, has not been too bad. If you were to do another one, anything you'd care to do differently?

Hey Alex,

For its time, Revell did an excellent job at capturing the shape of the -990.... in its prototype configuration.

The EE kit does a great job at representing the production aircraft, but by all means if you have a Revell -990 either hold onto it as a collectible, or build the upcoming Atlantis re-release.

Very nice model Ray. It looks like you had some interesting challenges with masking on the wings and it’s come out very well!

Brilliant!.

Thanks Dave.

The only thing i would do differently is not use the photo real windows, they just don't look quite right to me.

Well, the wings still look great, no matter how it was achieved - very nice!
