Hi!

I'm not really into jets, but I'm a naval aviation lover and always had a soft spot for the Tomcat (who hasn't?)...So when the Tamiya box reached the shops...well, you know.

The kit has been sitting in my stash for five years, and I really haven't the skills for this kind of project, but this GB motivated me to have a try!

I would have loved a colorful VF111 aircraft on my shelf, but I'm afraid that ship has sailed, can't find those decals. Oh well.

Here is the well known box:

Bye 🙂

Trust me, this kit practically builds itself. I've never had such sheer enjoyment out of a build as I did with my last Tamiya Tomcat.

Looking forward to see what you think of the kit! Enjoy 😉

Welcome to the GB Roberto :) I've every faith in your ability to turn this fine kit into a great model and I'm as sure the gang will be willing to help and encourage you along the way.

Mates, this kit is just outstanding!

Looking at the sprues you see lots of details...I'm stunned. Tamiya rules, IMO.

I got these aftermarket items...my first resin seats, wheels and metal probes 🙂

...and put together a few more pieces...

Thanks for looking!

Glad to see you're enjoying the kit so much. Tamiya really outdid themselves with this one, eh?

Good progress with the cockpit! Looking forward to seeing this one come together.

A really quick update...working on the cockpit!

Those side panels look great Roberto, I wish I could paint detail that well but I can't so usually use etch in my cockpits.

Hi folks.

My build will go to the KUTA GB...

I worked on many minor sub-assemblies and the resin seats are 75% painted, but i never really found the daily bench-time to meet the deadline.

I really want to thank all the fellow builders and our host @Col.  : this lovely GB gave me the nerve to start this amazing kit !

Thank you.

Roberto.

Glad to know you're continuing with this one Roberto and hope you can get some more regular bench time on it.
