spruecutter96
A very cool set of photos, Shaun. The P-47 and Mustang look very close together (a bit of forced perspective, I'm guessing). Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.
ColinChipmunkfan
Hi Shaun The clarity and detail in your photo compositions is very impressive. I particularly like the Lakenheath and Mildenhall shots Colin
canberraman
A truly fabulous and varied set Shaun! You really did choose a good week to take off. I particularly like the P-51, Wessex and RC-135 shots. Thanks for sharing. Mark
Paul Bradley
Wow, you got more spotting done in one week that I'm able to do in a year! How do you get such pin-sharp photos with great depth of field?! I've always struggled to get both.

Mark Thanks Mark, we were truly blessed to get such good weather for most of the week, usually it's the complete opposite! We were also very lucky to capture the RC-135U both departing and returning to Mildenhall- it usually departs in the early hours of the morning, so we had writtne off any chance of getting it leaving. Had to make a bit of a dash over from Lakenheath to grab it leaving, but couldn't have asked for much better conditions. It was our number one priority for this trip so naturally delighted to catch it! 12 hours ago, Paul Bradley said: How do you get such pin-sharp photos with great depth of field?! I've always struggled to get both. The sharpness comes from the 100-400L Mk II lens that I use, which is just a beautiful piece of glass. I shoot in TV mode which usually yields an F-Stop of around F8 or higher ensuring the whole aircraft is in focus. You can see the EXIF data on Flickr to see what settings were used on any particular shot. 22 hours ago, spruecutter96 said: A very cool set of photos, Shaun. To some extent yes, but they were very tight indeed!
Red Dot
All of those photos are excellent, but the best for me is the P-51, as it is taken from an usual angle. Great stuff Andy
