Great start. The engines look excellent.

I just bought my first set of Quinta decals for the ICM HueyCobra, they do look quite special even despite the eye-watering price 😲

The MiG-29 is one of my favourite shapes in the sky, looks like you're going to build a winner!

Thank You!
It seemed to me that the cost of Quinta 3D decals is similar to the cost of color photo-etched cockpit of Eduard?

Now: most hard stage of this build: decals!

Usually, it takes me a 2  evenings to make decals: one evening for technical work, the second for marks.
This time it took me 2 weeks of evenings to make the decals!

I share my experience: do not immediately try to "weld" the part of the decals as the instructions suggest.
This decal can be easily cut into small sections (2-3 strips) and welded one by one.

There no special problems, the decals themselves turned out to be very good: they did not fall into pieces, were thin, had good strength

After decals - varnish and "mud and weatering":

Excellent work. From the photos it looks like you are putting decals onto a matt/semi surface. Or is it gloss? If it is not gloss how are you overcoming silvering of the decals?

Pete

I'm put decals on gloss surface by several layers of Tamiya X-22 acrylyc clear
Semi surface - is final coating (XF-86 + X35), after weathering and wash...
