Now that Fundekals has released a decals sheets of the first F-4's flown by USAF . Time to start on my second Tamiya Phantom. So while USAF was waiting for C model to be produced McDonnell made a Few F-4B's and painted them in USAF markings so the air force could start trining the pilots. Plus the F-110A's also did numeruous testing .  Missiles , nose and main gear basys pirmered with mrbase white 1000. The intakes was sprayed with mrbase white 1000 once gone sprayed with Tamiya Lacquer LP-2 Gloss White Here is some preogress pics . I am really hooked on using the Tamiya LP Lacquer paints . This build will beasy no wethering since this was a brand new Phantom :)

Hello Brian. Great start on your jet. The panel line accent. Is that something you use to dry brush? Not something I've heard of. Of course now a days there are new things out there that miss.

I'll grab a seat and watch.

All The Best,

small update . I tried to modify the kit fin cap back dated to a early B . But propsed to go south and doing so i destroyed a kit tail. SO i ordered new parts from Tamiya and find cap from hypersonic models . Parts showed up. The hypersonic B fin cap is really great and fit like a dream. Also gothe  last of the parts for the main wing assembled. Next to start on the cockpit and exhaust burner can area :)

Looks great!!

So I guess those Phantoms also had the pointy Navy pylons, no?

The very early F-110s were loaner F-4Bs from the Navy; the finalized F-110 (F-4C) started to incorporate developments like the curved leading edge inboard pylons.

Spent last night took about 3 hout to work on the instrument panel getting the kit decaks on the IP. I cut them up and applied them in sections. Tedious job and tryoing to make eveyhting uniform can be a pain. Zoom in a taking close pics you see its not uniform . But when looking at it by itself its not bad at all. Kit wheels painted up and ready for flat coat . Next to ge the rest of the cocokpit painted :)
