Hello

Even if I have already started some WIP kits in the French GB I have simultaneously startde this 1/72 Meteor T Mk. 7 AZUR FRROM.

This kit was already produced by MPM/Special Hobby under the label Xtrakit in 2008 and I have both boxes to compare.

You will see the details are not up to the level of the more recent Meteor NF from the same manufacturer but if like me you do not cut the one piece canopy it is detailed enough.

First here are the grey sprues

I started this build with the wings and for each  main undercarriage well there are four separate walls

The instrument panel and the starboard console are put

OK there are few details on the floor...

Here are the front faces ot the engines

I made aluminium harnesses for both crews

The main colour was RLM66 to create a small scale black

The whel wells are aluminum and the front faces of the engines are ready to be glued

Great start! I’ve got the Xtrakit T7 which I’m assuming is the same kit?

Remember to add lots of nose weight!

Thank you and I will fill every hole in front of the cockpit with small fishing leads.

Looks very good. I think the canopy is incorrect for at T7, but correct for a night fighter. On the top, the second and fourth frames should be removed to leave longer rectangular clear panels above both seats. Better for vision in the trainer models. The photos here illustrate what I mean:

Possible but on this picture we can see clearly the frames.

Yes, they're on the inside of the canopy. Not the outside.

So I do not know how to make it as the canopy is engraved with the frames outside. These are not only the masks.

Oh that's a pain. If the grooves are not too deep, it might be possible to sand them out and then a coat of clear varnish might cover any minor blemishes.

I have modified the canopy so now I can follow on this kit.

Hello

Some progresses with the different colours to do first :

yellow around the wings and the rear fuselage

the white for the nose and the front engine cowlings

spacer.png

everything is ready before the next colour

and now the black areas

Last I put a couple of black stripes from the decal sheet to make the internal frame of the canopy
