Paddle Blade Props for HKM Lancaster

Recommended Posts

I'm currently working towards converting the HKM Lancaster kit to a Mk.X. So far I've eliminated the side windows as can be seen below and am looking ahead at installing Hamilton Standard paddle blade propellors.  Would anybody care to suggest an after market source for the required props?spacer.png

Are they the same as the paddle blade props used on later British Lancs?   Many boxing's of the Tamiya kit come with both needle and paddle blades,  so they are out there is spares boxes.

The HS  'paddle blade' used on the Mosquito was the 6519A-12, the prop diameter being 12ft.

I believe the Lancaster HS blade was the same basic blade i.e. 6519 but with a greater diameter being 13ft, so roughly an additional 6 inches on each blade.

I believe the prop hubs were the same.

I’m also looking for paddle blade props for my 1/48 HK Lanc. Does any one have four spares from a Tamiya kit they can part with?

Or has any aftermarket company produced them since this original post went up?
