Right, Nordic GB is here again and it's a perfect excuse to build finnish planes for the rest of the year :D

My summer has been real bad when it comes to modelling - I have tons of unfinished builds (and project logs -_- ) but maybe I will get my mojo back during this GB.

Now, this is probably not the mojo-build so maybe I won't start with this one, but I'm still planning to build it eventually.

It's looking bit rough 😐

Vacuform canopy. Second piece - just in case. Good.

My plan for this GB is to build HävLv 13 planes (Fighter Squadron 31), It was located here in Pori after the WW2 - which just happens to be my home town. It says 'Tre Bröder' on the side. Plane was funded via donations of three brothers - Vilhelm, Gustav Adolf and Bogislaw Klingspor - hence the name 'Tre Bröder' - three brothers.

Top photo is of the VH-9 just after it arrived in Pori brand new. Below photos after it's accident in 4th of july, 1955. While it would be interesting to do the brand new model, but I think I will model it bit later in life but sometime before the accident.

Is the fourth you have coming out of the factory?  That's a lot!  I'm impressed!

Well don't be - yet 😄 Last Nordic GB I built 7 planes but this time I would be happy to finish these four 🙂 Its easy to make these threads, I still have to make the kits...

Oooo Reini... that's looks really interesting and probably scary as well!!

"Short-Run Injection moulded plastic kit" striking fear into modellers since plastic models were invented!!!  :D

Arrr you should be fine with it, what could possibly go wrong..............

Good luck with her, your run of unfinished builds and lack of Mojo WILL finish here,  I can assure you of that!!!  :fight:   ....else you'll be banished to the Poop deck with the rest of the naughty ones!  :D

Reini,

Good luck and long nerves!

This is one of the worst if not THE worst kit I have ever been building. I started it when it was new and I have already decent wing-fuselage combination... It feels like the patterns have been decent but the production quality is just terrible!

Kippis,

What have I gotten myself into...? 😱

Thats the nastiest looking kit I've ever tried to build.

Anyway. Onwards!

Cockpit parts separated from the sprue, not yet cleaned.

Left, cleaned part. Right, not yet. Not sure whether it would have been better idea to rebuild these from plasticard rod - would have probably been easier, faster  and better looking solution :D

Cockpit parts cleaned up.

Cockpit assembled. I will probably add belts and have to look at the photos (always a good idea at this point when you have glued down everything) if there's something obvious that I can add. The canopy is quite large so I fear this might actually show...

Added few details with plasticard and lead wire. Still need to source some belts somewhere.

Gray looks better than dirty white.

I painted the interior in dull aluminium.

I dunno, somehow this kit is growing on me. I might change my mind when it comes the time to fit the wings to the fuselage :D

when I saw you first update I had to run away and hide.....wow that looked scary....made a Unicraft resin model look like something from Tamiya!!!  :door:

Nice to see you've tamed the beast, the cockpit has actually turned out quite nicely.
