Focke Wulf FW 187 – Special Hobby 1/72

Recommended Posts

A nine-year-old model that represents a decidedly little-known subject, the FW187 A-0.

As always, the greatest amount of modification work concerns the cockpit and the landing gear area.

The kit represents an operational aircraft at the SchiessSchule der Luftwaffe, based in Vaerlose (Denmark) in May 1943.

The model is camouflaged in 74/75/76 (Humbrol Enamels mixes) and is totally brush painted.

Now this is one you rarely see! Wonderful job and beautifully finished! Lovely detail work too. Thanks for showing.

I'd be very happy if the kit I have in the stash came out anywhere near as well as yours... when I get round to it.

Bello!

The last number of Jet&Prop had an article about the FW 187.The five aircraft that were built were used as protection for the Focke Wulf factory in Bremen. They were flown by their Test Pilots.

Giampiero,

Now, yer just showing off! Are you SURE it's not airbrushed? That is amazing paintwork, especially the mottling on the fuselage. I have always thought the Fw-187 was a handsome airplane, and I bet if it had been fitted with DB-605 engines, it would have made a very formidable  heavy fighter. You made a lot of improvements in the wheel bays and cockpit, and I have saved your build as a reference and how-to for building the one I have on the shelf. Museum quality, for sure! You can almost see the future Ta-154 if you squint your eyes really hard.

Probabilmente dopo la parentesi della Werkschützstaffel gli aerei vennero assegnati alla SchiessSchule di Vaerlose.

Probably after the parenthesis of the Werkschützstaffel the planes were assigned to the SchiessSchule.

Ciao

First rate building and particularly the painting. The photos are well done and presented.

I have to agree!
