  • Homebee changed the title to 1/72 - Lockheed P-38 Lightning by Hobby 2000 (plastic Hasegawa) - box art+schemes - release in 2021

Well, I think they are ex-dragon instead of Hasegawa origin. Why? Beacause the Hasegawa kit is too old for having a kind of interest by a firm like Hobby2000, and plus because the only P38M on the market was by Dragon ( I don't consider the older Revell P38M, a vintage kit).

Its not the Hasegawa kit. It states in the blurb that it is Dragon/Cyber-hobby. Hobby 2000 already have a partnership with them for the Arado 234 they released and the Hasegawa kit is way too old and only did the J version IIRC.

A rare disappointment from Hobby 2000 - I've attempted 2 of the Dragon kits and they are real pigs IMHO. On first glance they look good with decent detail, but fit is atrocious. I recently completed the recent Italeri kit, which is I believe is based the Academy release. Similar levels of detail, but it goes together beautifully. At the moment I'd say it's your best option for a P-38J

Cheers

Good afternoon

I totally agree the best P38 is the Academy kit it is just too bad that it is possible to find one at a decent price , the recent Italeri rebox is rather expensive ...

I hope that some day Tamiya will downscale it's F/G 1/48 kit
