Hallo

I just want to ask! No sure answer yet.

When not, what was the reason why not?

When yes, which sort of missions.

In Lybia they were there, some years ago. Or did they show up defficies there?

Happy modelling

I do not think any were deployed. The RAF had Tornados there when needed then Reaper drones, Luftwaffe as well,  later Heron drones.

Italy did had the AMX deployed...

Eurofighters are very much involved over Syria/ Iraq, so I do not think technical issues were the reasons but tactical needs!

RAF Typhoons fully ( but Recce I assume) replaced the Tornado for any air to ground work, supplemented by the F-35 (not sure if those are more air to air or air to ground oriented...)

The RAF’s commitment to ‘Op Herrick’(the UK’s combat operations in Afghanistan), ended in 2014 by which time the Typhoon only possessed a basic air to ground capability, so were deemed to be unsuitable for such operations. However the Typhoon did conduct air to ground ops in Libya in 2011 when they dropped GBU-12 with the assistance of Tornado’s providing the laser designation.

Over Libya the carried and dropped up to 4, possibly 6 1000 lb Paveway or Enhanced Paveway II EPWII bombs.

The RAF does not use GBU-12(maybe on Reaper drones?)

nowadays the weapon of choice is a derivative, the 500 lb  Paveway IV.
