exdraken
great progress! but this is a real Fighting you Falcon! whwt did I learn tonight? - stay away from the Kinetic F-16.... I hope the XL is better, because I have 2 in the stash the Lansen also sees some love, at least a little...,
Marlin
Thanks Werner. I wouldn't keep my hope up for the XL,, it shares a lot of sprues with the standard F-16. As for my self I'll build the Kinetic F-16 over the old Hasegawa any day in the week. As for the Lansen, it will receive some more TLC this weekend. Perhaps I'll have enough time to even fit the wings. /Bosse
John Masters
I like all the Christmas celebrations Bosse. It reminds me that I must post a picture of my St Nikolas Boat on my own thread. A Greek tradition. I am liking there F-16 too! Pass the cold plate please! 😋
Marlin
Ahoy Vikings, and thanks John. One cold plate coming up. I've now painted and clear coated my Norwegian F-16, and during next week I'll put the decals on. So now I can concentrate me on the Lansen. Lots of seams to fix. First the nose section. 525 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 526 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I had to use some plasticard strips here and there. Sanded and polished it looks much better. 527 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 528 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr So on with the wings. 529 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And more putty. 530 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 531 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll be sanding and polishing these seams during the coming week I guess. To be continued..... /Bosse

That I'd only already filled seams, seems managable Wow rather big compared to the F-16! Hasegawa at least has precise shape and detail, Kinetic more detail but un-precice part engineering/ molding..
Marlin
Thanks Werner. Yes the Lansen is rather big, around the same length as the Hawker Hunter, but more beefier. /Bosse
Marlin
Ahoy Vikings. Just a wee quick update. I've started with the decals on my Norwegian F-16, and one side is done. 109 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 110 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I really like that the stencils are readable, and the combination of a light grey aircraft with pale orange warning stencils. A few days short of a fortnight left to finish this one, so I better hurry up. To be continued..... /Bosse
JeroenS
Remember, no TV Bosse! 🙂 Looks like you'll be able to finish her in time.
Marlin
Thansk Jeroen. Wrong week to quit TV. Channel One Cup in Ice hockey on the box from Wednesday until Sunday, and my local team Upplands Väsby has two games this week. 🏒 🥅 But I'll have plenty of time in between games. /Bosse

trickyrich
Bosse I haven't forgotten about you or these builds, have had to follow in silence way too much outside stuff going one! great to see both of these builds still progressing, though the F-16 looks to be putting up a fight! ...and yes I all the food updates have caused me to go off an look for food afterwards...as usual! Down here we don't have to worry about the heat escaping, rather the opposite, been a wet summer so far in Sydney, but yesterday was reminded that it is summer, had our first 38C day!!! It regularly hits the mid 40'sC!!! Hopefully you can finish her in time.... or you will if you stop watching TV!
Marlin
Ahoy Vikings, and thanks @trickyrich +38C and rising?, that hotter than I've experienced. I can't imaging whats thats like. I've experienced the opposite. The year I did my national service in the Royal Engineers in Boden just below the arctic circle we slept in tent one week in February, and the warmest we had that week was -28C, and we had -42C one night. I've now got almost all decals and stencils in place. 111 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 112 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 113 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 115 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I don't know how old the Hasegawa sheet I used, but they were very brittle and I had to use the strongest decal solution I have on them. And I think all of the walklines broke at least in one place. I've got the wingtip missile rails in place. 114 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 116 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've painted the exhaust. 117 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've still have some stencils to place, but after that I'll matt coat everything. One week to go, but if nothing unexpected happens I think I'll have this one done by Boxing Day. To be continued..... /Bosse
trickyrich
looking very nice, I do like the scheme. I though for some reason the insignia's faced the other direction..... good thing I wasn't building it! I've worked in freezers at -40C, no fun at all! This summer if it gets toasty it'll get into the mid to high 40's where I am in Sydney, usually 10C hotter that the posted temp for Sydney. A/C will be pretty much on most of the time! Good beer drink weather!!
Marlin
Ahoy Viking. Christmas in Upplands Väsby was a still and quite one. We didn't have any guests, or visitied any one this year too. Christmas Eve always start with rice porridge for breakfast, 118 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr and a cheddar chese sandwich. 119 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The rest of Christmas Eve continued with more food (no pictures) Santa came in the evening and I must have been a very good boy this year. I got two identical 5 m tape measures. I have a habit of forgetting to take the tape measure with me when I'm doing something at the cottage. Now I can have one where I'm working and one at the saw station. One of many vices I have is Danish Butter Cockies, and my lovely wife had found me a tin. 120 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 121 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Axel, my youngest one, knows that his father i rather fond of anti ship missiles. So he, and his brother and sister, got me a kit of a Mk-15 Phalanx in 1/35 so I can defend my self when the ASM start flying around the worktable. 122 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The kit comes with complete PE set and turned brass barrels and flame dampener for the canning. Christmas Eve continued with some Brit Crime on the tv. 123 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr With a Christmas Lager in one glass, and some Riesling in the other one, and a overdose of Christmas candy and Danish Butter Cockies. 124 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But I did manage to get the wheels on my F-16. 125 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 126 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Christmas Day started with following NASA's live coveridge of the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope from French Guyana. 127 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 128 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr It was real exiting to follow it live. Now JWST will take a month to get to the place a million miles from earth where it will orbit. And we'll have to wait around 6-12 months before we'll get the first picture to marvel about from it. When the telescope was launched and on it's way on it's mission it was time for me to continue on my mission with getting my Nordic builds finished. So I've glued the hook and two flare buckets in place. 129 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Next drop tanks. 130 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Nose gear cover. 131 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Penguines. 132 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Sidewinders. 133 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Now it looks like an F-16 134 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Position lights. 135 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A small antenna. 136 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Pitot tube and AoA sensors. 137 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 138 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 139 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I haven't neglected the Lansen. With the two week extension I think I have a small chance to get this one done as well. So on with the drop tank. 532 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The pylons for the rockets. 533 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 534 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And a divider in the main gear bay. 535 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And then primer on everything. 536 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Red paint around the airbrakes. 537 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Then I remembered that I had to put some PE parts on the fuselage. So out with some CA glue. 538 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr If I'm to get the Lansen finished before January 9th I'll have to get the paint and clear coat on early this week, decals for New Year's. It's a tight schedule, but I think I can do it. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Thanks Jeroen. I really look forward to build the Phalanx gun. I've not opened the bags, but from what I see on the sprues it look like a very nice kit. /Bosse

Marlin
Ahoy Vikings. My plan to have this one done before the deadline are still in the green. Yesterday I got the last few PE parts in place. 539 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 540 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 541 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And with that done I could start to paint my Lansen. First up, aluminium on the lower parts. 542 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll put on two more layers this evening. And I'll be adding a fourth layers later on. AKAN metalics are very easy to work with and they brush very fine, but they are on the thin side. To be continued..... /Bosse
