Marlin
Hi. This will be my entries here in Nordic II. I've consulted the ancient Norse Gods and we've deceided that I can build two kits in this Groupbuild. First one will be a Norwegian early model F-16A with AGM-119 Penguin's Like this. https://www.f-16.net/g3/var/resizes/f-16-photos/album37/album09/685_001.JPEG?m=1371901222 <<<--- LINK I'll be using Kinetics F-16 002 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 003 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr It'll be armed with two Penguines, 4 Sidewinders, two droptanks and perhaps an ECM pod under the belly. I'll have to check if the Norwegian Airforce carried ECM pods during this time. My second entry will be a Swedish Airforce A32A Lansen. I'll be using the Tarangus kit. 443 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've broken the bank to load it up with all neccesary AM parts needed to make a Lansen. Decals from Maestro, leftovers since my first Lansen. 444 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Mine will be an A32A from Wing 17 (F17) in Kallinge, south of Sweden in Blekinge county. Perhaps I'll do the one in experimental camouflage, perhaps just a regular line bird. 445 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've got Maestro's PE for both interior and exterior. 20210902_194716 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 447 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Pitot tube from Master 448 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Lowered flaps from Maestro, since all SAAB aircraft have them lowered when unpowered. 449 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And Maestros new 3D printed airbrakes, no PE origami this time thank you very much. 450 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And then something to hang under the wings, I armed my first A32A Lansen with Robot 04 anti-ship missiles, so we can't have that again. So I got Maestro's full 24 pieces 15cm rockets. Well if you're hunting for (Red) Bear with rockets, you might do it right. 451 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I might start my builds on Sunday. But perhaps not, I'd like to have at least one of my Netzs' finished by the 19 September deadline. And tomorrow I'm going to the cottage to practise some of my Nordic cuisine. Check out this thread later, or perhaps I'll put in Ragnars Lounge & Grill. To be contimued..... /Bosse
trickyrich
WOW!!! you almost have as much AM stuff as I do for most of my builds!!! I like the F-16 with the 's , it should look really cool. The Lansen is nice, best loaded with Robot's but all the rockets will look pretty cool as well. I'll just have to make sure I've eaten first before I check out your updates!!!
Marlin
Thanks Rich. I've been wanting a Norwegian F-16 with for a long time. I really was bitten by the F-16 bug in the STGB, had forgot how fun it's to build F-16's And a Lansen with 24 rockets under the wings will look great. /Bosse.
Christer A
Bosse, please stop stealing my ideas for Lansen! At least you'll not do a F14 machine. I guess you'd like to have some internal bits for the airbrake? I was thinking of CAD some gubbins there, just for fun.

I'd love some innards for the airbrake wells. Just get them done, and I'll send you the money. Would it be possible to print something for a better air intakes, I'll sell a kidney for that. /Bosse

Marlin
Attention Vikings. No plastic has yet been harmed. But here's a report from my grill at my summer cottage this weekend. We arrived just in time to catch the last sunrays on the patio with a cold one. 386 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A nice end to a busy week at work. This weekends highlight will be a 1,2kg roe deer saddle I bought at a local butcher. 387 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 387 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But that's for Saturday. Axel took out the telescope in hope of doing some stargazing, but unfortunatelly it was too cloudy for that Friday evening. 389 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr At the butchers I also found some lamb sausages flavoured with parmesan cheese, which was put on the grill for our Friday dinner. 390 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 391 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Saturday offered lovely late summer weather. 392 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 393 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 394 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr4 But you can see that the leafes are starting to shift in colour and autumn is coming, the night between Saturday and Sunday the temperature dropped down to just a single degree Celsius above freezing. And now let's get dinner ready. The roe deer saddle was trimmed clean. 395 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the grill was lit. url=https://www.flickr.com/gp/156426495@N05/b87E74][/url]396 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Meanwhile did Axel show his mother the very expensive adapted his father had bought him for mounting his cellphone to his telescope. 397 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But no star gazing this evening either, too cloudy again. Our garden provided some seasoning for the roe deer. 398 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Fresh round carots and fresh thyme. But I dont think we'll grow fat on this years produce. Just one very small mini eggplant/aubergine. 399 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr two mini corn cobs. 400 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr and about 10 Padrones, 401 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The roe deer saddle was seared on each side on the hot grill. 402 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 403 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr It was then place in an aluminium dish, and seasond with freshly groud salt, black pepper, our own carrots, some twigs of thyme, butter and a large splash of redwine. 404 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The the aluminium dish was place in a second one which was wrapped with tinfoil to create a small oven for the grill. 405 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And then I only had to wait by the grill, with a glass of rosé wine for about 25 minutes, just long enough to catch the last sun rays of the evening. 406 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 25 minutes was just fine for the roe deer to cook. 407 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Which was then served with a greenpepper sauce, chantrelles, almond potatoes and some blackcurrant jelly. 408 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I'd found a most lovely Aussie Shiraz to have with the meal. It was actually the first time I bought a wine in the EUR 20 range, normally I stay at EUR 12-15 but I thought that for this kind of meat I'd go a little higher than usual. And I can say you definitely get what you pay for. 410 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The evening was rounded up with the last of this years midsummer christmas party's Glögg (moulded wine) and some gingerbreads with Roquefort cheese on. 409 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And with this I can say that we had a fantastic meal to end Summer 2021 at the cottage, but we don't close up the house, so in a fortnight we're going back. So now I'm planing our next Valhalla feast for the first autumn weekend of 2021. /Bosse 9

Maybe I should wait with an A 32A (my secondary project was an F 14 Wing machine..!) Need to try that wine too.. ^^
trickyrich
...... and I'm getting hungry and jealous already!!!!! I love that wine glass in the first photo, very appropriate for this build! On 9/6/2021 at 3:30 AM, Marlin said: 410 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This is from one of my favourite wineries in Clare Valley (well right at the bottom of that area, Sth Australia, home of some of the best wines in Australia!! We buy quite a lot of it and other wines produced by them. All the wines they produce are named after famous tunes. Our favourite is "Black Magic Woman" a Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, really lovely (though I prefer a Shiraz), their ultra premium Shiraz is called "Nirvana".... and it is!!! If you happen to see any other of their wines I'd go for it!! Plus the price you're paying pretty good as well, $25 AUD here from the cellar door!
Marlin
Thanks Rich. @trickyrich The beer glass in the first picture was a birthday present, in a set of two, from Axel. He bought them bought them in the gift shop of the Swedish Army museum in Stockholm. They do a full range of various glasses for wine, beer, schnaps, whisky etc. with the same Three Crowns markings. And I treasure them. As for more wines, I'll see if I can get some other sorts from the same winery here at my end. /Bosse

Marlin
Ohoy Vikings. We've now been rowing for almost a week, so let's have a horn of mead. 452 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr With the decals done on my Netz I started to work on the Lansen yesterday. The first thing I did was to plug the hole in the middle of the main gear bay. 453 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The sprue on my Rafale M has the same diameter as the hole in the landinggear bay, so I just cut a piece of sprue and drenched the hole with some Tamiya Extra Thin and plugged the hole. I then started to work on the cockpits. 454 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Marked all spots that will be replaced with Maestro PE parts. 455 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Did some carving and sanding. 456 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And then put some primer in form of Humbrol 140 enamel. It's my favorite primer for AKAN Acrylics, last time I ordered more AKAN colours from my dealer Ville at Hobby Paint n Stuff in Helsinki I also ordered 6 tins of Humbrol 140. I guess they'll last at least a year or two. That was all I had time for yesterday, and now I'm at work. But later on today I plan to continue with the Lansen, lots of ejection pins that will have to be removed; and have a horn or three of mead. To be continued..... /Bosse

JeroenS
I totally missed last weekend's report Bosse, but I caught up. Some lovely pics of the cottage and surrounding area. We were in Sweden a couple of years ago, very nice. In fact I've never felt so relaxed after a holiday. Must be all those trees. 1
Marlin
Thanks Jeroen. We have some lovely places in this country. I always find my self relaxed after a weekend at the cottage. It's soo quite there. At home we live just by the E4 motorway in one direction and the railway going north at the other side, and right under the approach to Stockholm/Arlanda Airport Which means that the neighborhood is quite noise polluted. At the cottage it's the opposite, no traffic at all, and a night sky that's free from light pollution. But as much as I like my own country I wouldn't say no to a trip to the Netherlands. We seem to speak alike. , every time we've been to Germany I've been mistaken for a Dutch. /Bosse

Jup, they do that 😉 I'm sure there are places where it's noisy and the neighbourhoods are rough, even in Sweden ... But you tend to avoid those places while on holiday 🙂 We had a great time and I don't believe I ever saw so many trees. You have much more space and less people than we have, that is a huge difference. We have some very nice places too, but it's different. But do tell me when you're coming, I'll make sure I have enough coal for the grill so you can at least cook a nice dinner 😉

Marlin
Hi Vikings. On Friday I had a horn of "mead" when I got home from work. 466 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The I sat down at the worktable to continue working on my Lansen. I cut the plug I'd used to fill the hole in the main landing gear bay to size and fashioned it so that it blends in with the suroundings. 457 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I cleaned up some more parts from ejection pins. 458 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I then started to cut out the holes for the four airbrakes. 459 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 460 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 461 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Teadious and hard work, very thick plastic in this kit. And it was getting late, so more "mead" and some wine in the kitchen seemed like a better idea. 462 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'd planned to do some overtime work on Saturday, but life got in the way, and when I finally had some time over I returned to the worktable and glued some PE parts to the wheel covers. 463 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And yesterday Sunday, I started to clean up the ordnance. The 3D printed 15cm rockets. 464 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 465 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I only managed to clean up 3 pairs before my neck and eyes had had it. And speaking of the ordnance. The Lansen could carry 24 rockets, but with that load it could only just get airborne. So I've changed my mind to instead doing a maximum operational load of 16 rockets and a droptank. The ones that'll be surplus I hope one day to use on Pilot Replicas SK60C when it comes. To be continued..... /Bosse
trickyrich
probably for sanity's sake 16 rockets should be enough, else most of the build would be spent cleaning them up! It's always scary cutting hole in perfectly good plastic, but will look good when done.
Marlin
Thanks @trickyrich Yes 16 will do just fine, and cutting up a perfectly good kit scares me too. /Bosse
