Special Hobby 1/32 Bristol M-1C

Recommended Posts

It's been a while but after a few months of a break from modelling, I thought I'd build this one.
Special Hobby Bristol M-1C in 1/32 scale, which is about the perfect scale for aeroplanes of this size. The kit goes together very well and I hand painted it in Humbrol acrylics 98 Chocolate and 41 Ivory. I thought the Humbrol colour was a reasonable stab at a PC-12 finish. I used Alleycat decals to finish the model as a (slightly fictitious) example from 72Sqn. RAF in Mesopotamia in 1918.

This is rather nice indeed! I liked the wires at the tail end. Looks very realistic! I don't know much about WW1 aircraft types personally, more in to WW2 stuff! Think you'd have to be pretty brave to fly them , especially without being allowed a parachute! They were refused to be issued as possession of one was thought to " impair a pilots nerve" ! Leading them to jump at the first sign of trouble! Blimey!

Lovely model and an interesting subject!

Cheers

Andy
