I'm not used to posting in this area - any thoughts???  any other news???  I've emailed @TIGER HOBBIESLIMITED as they are the UK distributor - but I'm really keen to find out if anyone has any other news.

Enjoy - Steve

  • BIG X changed the title to Coming Soon - 1/35 Daimler Armoured Car Mk1

It was posted in the WWII armour section, and possibly in the proposed Armoured Car GB thread for next year.

I've not seen any posting anywhere for the actual release date.  The Gecko Models home page doesn't even show it as a future release.

regards,

Jack

UPDATE - I received an email from @TIGER HOBBIESLIMITED this morning...

Hi Steve,

I’ve spoken with my colleague who orders Gecko and they have informed me that unfortunately we’ve been given no price or release date for the product, only information that it will be coming out.

So at least we know it is on the horizon - I'll just have to keep an eye on their website.

I just checked out that build review on Track-Link. Wow! It's magnificent, but it's not modelling the way I want it to be - or could cope with, to be frank.

An amazing kit, nonetheless.

A member over at missinlynx has offered to design the suspension units for 3D printing in order to avoid the 30 plus parts x 4 from the Gecko kit.  It is interesting the comment that even with all those parts, Gecko has simplified the overall shape of the suspension.

From what I gather, other than being an overly complicated  kit,   the main knock is the lack of weld beads on the main body, and a roof that does not fit all too well.

regards,

Jack
