Norwegian Sea King - Airfix 1/72

A colourful subject choice Dave and at least the kit includes a folded rotor option to avoid it taking up too much space in your display cabinet ;)

WOW that looks great!!!

Are you going to leave the side door open?

No, there's not really enough detail in there.  The real thing has bits of medical equipment etc. all over the place and that would be too much for me to replicate.

It's ready for primer now.

The only difficult bit was with the clear parts around the cockpit, but a bit of filler and sanding seems to have sorted it.

Hi All,

Priming done.

...and the white done.

The rotors aren't glued in place, just pushed in.  I don't have any day-glow paint at the moment so I'll have leave it until I can get hold of some,  I've no idea which is best paint to use.

Hi All,

I've finally finished my other GBs and acquired some fluorescent orange so this is progressing a bit again.

Masking this up was far more challenging than I expected - not helped by running of yellow tape.

I knew I'd missed masking a few spots - but not this many.

So a little bit of retouching needed next - luckily there's that two week deadline extension otherwise it wouldn't be possible to get it finished.

You're back Dave, I was wondering what had happened with this build.

An epic masking jobs I see (know all about those!!!), she's going to look nice and bright when done.

Hope you have a great Christmas and new year.

Hi All,

I didn't do much to this over xmas, but I've done most of the painting, but there's still some to be done.  With time running out I've moved onto the decaling.

There's still about a hundred stencils to go on so that'll be a bit of a grind.

well done on completing her and glad she made it into the gallery in time as well.

It's always great to see choppers in the build and this one was certainly a fine looking chopper.

A great build to follow and I hope you enjoyed it, again well done.
