Bonhoff
Hi all, Well, my cunning plan was that I'd start my first one at midnight (Obvs going for the 24 hour/1 day option now) but have been called in. Famalam know that I'm on a blitzbuild and are now finding distractions, already have a trip to Ikea pencilled in for me, on account I've got the big estate car to carry stuff! Will have to get up nice and early to start instead... Let's see how far we get. IanJ Edited August 30, 2021 by Bonhoff Title revised

Bonhoff
Greetings from Ikea Nottingham - The family have picked a number of furniture items and I'm writing this in the café waiting for my meatballs. The day started thus.... What shall we start first? How about this? Not many parts to this one Think the instructions weigh more than the sprues! Mostly together and then I was called away to drive here... Lunch has arrived. Hopefully I'm not asked to help build the wardrobe today or the blitzbuild subjects will take an unusual turn. Bonhoff
Well - Wasn't expecting it to take a total of 6 hours out of my day but back in the place where mediocrity happens. Quickly put some primer on the glider then fished around for something else. How about this? Why not. Basic chassis with the one part tracks - They're OK but we'll try the multi part version, shall we? Took about half an hour for the one side. Back to the glider - Spray can of Humbrol Silver used. Hoping to knock the shine back a bit when it's varnished. Back to work. IanJ
Bonhoff
Sherman structurally complete - I built a UM Firefly in the same scale a few years back, it had a couple of hundred parts, it took many hours to build and was so frustrating that I urged everyone not to bother with such a kit. This is nothing like that one, this was a delight to build by comparison and as long as you realise that a couple of parts have been numbered incorrectly in the instructions, you'll be fine. Better think about paint now. IanJ

JOCKNEY
Great stuff Ian I think you have a really good point re armoured kits, by the time I've done all the wheels, I've nearly lost the will to live ! cheers Pat
Bonhoff
Distracted for half an hour with a request for assistance on the wardrobes collected earlier but applied primer and paint to Firefly. Two coats of MIG- Ammo SCC.15 bit paint hasn't dried as fast as I'd have liked it to, plus not sure how well it's covered given I'm working under artificial light. Decided to get the glider over the line at least, it needed rigging to make a decent job, I used EZ-Line as I couldn't find my Uschi black line. Done and in the gallery - The Firefly will be finished over the next few days. IanJ Edited August 30, 2021 by Bonhoff Predictive text!

AdrianMF
The glider looks super! How did you paint your EZLine? I’ve tried and failed to get it looking like that. Regards, Adrian
