Does anyone know why the wing radiators were reversed on the Sea Fury, I’ve often wondered but never asked in case the answer makes me look ( more) stupid!

John

Good question John !!

I don't know but from now on my sleep will be altered....:rofl2::rofl2:

How many nights ruined about penguin's knees ??? :rofl2:

2023 is starting hard at CC's castle....

I smashed my left thumb with a hammer... A big one....

Now the lesser bad new is that my evening work week is shortened....

But modelling minus a thumb is not easy....

But I will overcome.....

No broken bones, another good new....

Now the pain.... well, I'm used to pain....

They did'nt nicknamed me Terminator whithout reasons.....:shrug:

I have a thing to fix with Flickr, but it is my bad...

So, no piccies for another couple of days....

Have a great modelling sunday...

Sincerely...

Whatever are  we to do with you Alain? Remember the Mantra.... Hit the hammer on the nail, NOT the Thumb..... Hit the hammer on the nail, NOT the Thumb.....Hit the hammer on the nail, NOT the Thumb.....

Thankfully you didn't break anything. So take two fifths every 4 hours for discomfort and Don't call me in the morning. Besides look on the bright side. At least you didn't strike your middle finger. Get better soon my Mon Ami.

IMG_20230315_223726

On we go...

If it go well, it will save a lot of masking tape.....:whistle:

Now, in doing so, I felt myself like an old japanese man painting kanas...

So, it is relaxing...

You're right.....

Sincerely.

Great to see the paint going on, is this a hard edge camouflage scheme ?

Great start CC

Chris

I think Chris !!

Painted with huge gummy mask as far as I know...

I saw a pic of that...

Aircraft fitter using these kind of tarpaulin...

Then, it is possible to have soft edges with brushes ????

I'm rrally interested....

Yes of course, that is how I do mine, no masking needed at all.  Although I use enamels and use them neat to do the fuzzy demarcation lines and then thin them a bit to fill between them.

To do the demarcation lines, get a small amount of paint on the brush and paint just inside of where you want the demarcation line to be and once you have done a line around and inch long or 25 mm in new money, you then go back to the start and scrub the brush along the outer edge of the line and work along the line you have just laid down and you will eventually achieve a fuzzy line with practise.   I don't know how acrylics behave though CC.

Hope that helps

They are absolute swines :) But if you have a chopped down brush with bristles about 3mm long that have been dipped in paint and wiped back almost to dry, you can get a feathered edge!

Adrian

PS gotta love a Mk2. Nice!!

Thanks Adrian, that is interesting, I had always had a bad experience with acrylics and didn't realise that you could get a decent fuzzy edge.

What it also reminded me of was the brush I use too, I use an old brush which is hardened with paint residue about two thirds of the way down and so when you are scrubbing along the paint for the demarcation lines it doesn't stray too far and keeps the line quite tight.
