Special Hobby Loire 130 1/48°

Recommended Posts

The Loire 130 was the main type of seaplane boarded on the French Battleships and Cruisers. She gave a good account of herself despite her obsolescence. The SH model requires a lot of work to correct the many mistakes done, and I used very good articles in the defunct Replic Magazine as in Wing Master to do so. It was along and painful process but I did enjoy the result, only to see the model destroyed in my shelves fall-down! So this is a model of the past and I do not intend to do a second one! Tanks for watching.

What a lovely ex-model of this intriguing seaplane, and what a shame to hear of its demise.

I built this kit a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed both the build and the result; mine was built in its "continental" scene as an aircraft used in French Into-Chinese service.

Still can't work out how a bomb could be dropped without taking out the rear float support.........

Have seriously toyed with the idea of building another and your "blast from the past" has taken that idea much closer to a decision !!

Join me, if you like........

Tanks a lot for your kind comment! Nevertheless to day it is not a motivation problem but more of a space where to put the model! Best regards from France.

Very nice result! What a bizarre machine.... I have in stash this beast in smaller scale (1/72) for years, but you've inspired to start doing it soon!

I am very sorry for lost of it. That's really painful...

Best regards

J-W

Congratulations on the model .... How did you make the trolley? From scratch?

Hello! No scratch here, I think I have used te Sinifer trolley for the Laté 298.

Great build! And sorry for the accident - the photos do it justice regardless!

Thanks! That's part of a modeler's life😉

Bonjour Jean,

splendid model, even if the award is posthumous.

You are braver than I will ever be. I have the 1/72 Azur kit, and I am totally unsure how to tackle such a kit! Yours is/was splendid.

Yes, Replic and Wing Masters often have some excellent articles, and it is a shame Replic is another posthumous memory.

Congratulations on a brilliant build. Memories do matter.

Excellent detailing! The research alone must have been a great effort.

Not so much as I did use the excellent book from Lela presse on the subject.
