Out of all the 1/48th scale kits from Dora's range they could scale down, this one is the least needed.

It's a bit subjective what is needed or wanted, I don't know if I'm going to get this one. But I agree that there's probably more demand for early Thunderbolts, which Dora Wings has said they will also be released in 1/72. I would have wished that they release also a 1/72 P-35, but Special Hobby's kit is still available, so maybe that's the reason why they chose not to.

I think (almost) the exact opposite. Vengeance is one of the most important (and damn underestimated and disregarded) WW2 dive bombers. Maybe not as important as Ju87, SBD and SB2C, but in the same league as D3A and D4Y, and definitely more important than SB2U, Breda 65, Hs123 or Skua.

The only one 1/72 Dora kit I'm waiting for even more is Miles Master (especially in radial-engined versions promised 6 years ago).

BTW I just hope that the A-31 and A-35 will get separate fuselages, because the difference in the wing angle of incidence is undisguised.

Cheers

Michael

Since we have relatively modern and good quality representations of Vengeance by Special Hobby, my thought was that further Lysander versions, MS.230, CR.714, P-47B/C, AT-9 etc. should be better candidates for scaling down.

I would agree with you, but only without getting deep into the topic. Certainly in terms of the MS-230 - it's another underrated warbird. But I bought the (quite decent) Pavla AT-9 recently, the next versions of the Lysander are probably only a matter of time, and the P-47B and Caudron are topics for someone who has already bought everything and does not know what to do next (something like the fourth car in home).

As for Vengeance from Special Hobby - well? Better than Frog and its Eastern European clones. But it only looks correct as an A-35. Converting the fuselage wing fairing to the A-31 with zero angle of incidence is really a lot of work. And I know the Dora boys know what I'm talking about.

Cheers

Michael

Surely there will be a boxing with RAAF markings. (And French)

I’m afraid the French Vengies had 3 guns in each wing so who knows...

Looks very nice. I built the old Frog kit a few years back, 45 sqn with SEAC roundels. Still pretty good for its age but this kit trumps it massively,I would imagine. I feel an Aussie one coming on with a white tail.

I can recommend the book 'Vengeance!' by Peter C. Smith as a reference. An excellent read and he feels the type was massively underrated.
