Well Alistair, she don`t look to bad from here sir

Or from here either. Mind you, my eyesight’s not what it used to be…

I jest of course, this looks great and seems to be coming together very nicely.

Thanks Craig,

It's getting there. Looks a little more like a Komet now.

Starting to come together I think.

Great work so far! Looks like the kit fits pretty well together?

Thanks so much.

It fits like a dream. The only issues I've had so far have been self-inflicted. The tolerances are tight and the slightest misalignment with the cannons gave me a little trouble with the wings.

Entirely my fault.

Cheers,

Alistair

A touch of yellow should really get this looking swish. Inspired by your excursion into late war, last gasp of the Luftwaffe, wonder weaponary, I picked up the Dragon 1/48 He 162 while visiting my LMS earlier this week. But I believe that, unlike this little gem, it’s a bit of a bear to build so I put it back down and bought the new Airfix Mosquito instead.

I did the 1/72 Mistel version of that one for my nephew a while ago and it was an absolute pig. Nice choice on the Mossie I've got one here too. Kind of tempted to get it going sometime soon.

ColourCoats RLM 76 has been sprayed. One slight touch up needed. I'll take that.

If I get some time before work tonight I may attempt some mottling.

Not certain which colour this should be but I'm tending toward RLM 02

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Great to see some paint going on Alistair,  liking the yellow particularly.   Great work fella.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

You are entirely to blame for the yellow. You helped me take all the fear out of it. Thanks.

Alistair

Oooooo, now you are talking, what will it be???

Chris

I'm not certain but I'm thinking of doing a lizzie as a target tug. Not all yellow but with the yellow and black diagonals. I also have a couple of the Aldi Yellowjack Gnats to do.

Would that be a return visit to the Dora Wings Lizzie? You weren’t put off by last time?  Here’s another thought, you could build that new Airfix Mosquito you mentioned was lurking in the stash as a TT35. Yellow and black on the bottom and silver on top. Glorious!

Craig.

I know where the major problems are with the Dora Lizzie now and can sort it before closing the fuselage up but I do have the Eduard rerelease of the 1/48 Gavia Lizzie which may be as difficult, but the Mossie now there's an idea.

I'll need to look at that.

Today I managed to get on with some masking and spraying.

ZFyZvIM.jpg

DbUZ44g.jpg

Then some ColourCoats RLM 81 and a wee bit of Tamiya Buff mottling.

Finally some ColourCoats RLM 82

And after a short time, masking off.

Of course I had some overspray that in an area I thought I'd masked but that'll be an easy fix when I'm masking up for the RAF Dark Green tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,
