RAF Dark Green painted and leading edges touched up where they needed it.

I also fixed the overspray on the yellow.

Tomorrow I'll mask off and spray the bit where the flaps are. Not certain but I feel this should be RLM 02.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Some masking and RLM 02 applied this morning.

Not much of an update but other stuff getting in the road.

I need to go and plan the rest of the build but I think this main part is good for a clear coat and some transfers.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

On checking the instruction for decal placements to see if I can clear coat now or whether I have other stuff that needs done before then I noticed that I needed a bit more mottling in areas I'd missed and there was a splash of RAF Dark Green on the starboard fuselage.

So, I broke out the Infinity and got on with it.

Now, once that's dry overnight I can clear coat and get moving on this one.

Thanks for looking,

I'm just looking forward to getting some transfers on and seeing how it looks then

And then you have to sculpt the figure of ‘Winkle’ Brown standing beside it. Which raises another question, is it going to be on its launching trolly or resting elegantly on the skid and one wingtip? Either way, it will look great.

Thanks Craig.

It'll be on the trolley. The reference pic I have shows this one on the trolley with the skid down.

Clear coat applied to the fuselage and whilst waiting for that to dry I got on with some other stuff.

After a light weathering and a satin coat.

The flaps have been sprayed yellow.

The tail wheel, trolley, landing skid and wheels lightly weathered with the skid dry fitted to the trolley.

Once the yellow is dried and clear coated I'll get the RLM 02 on the underside.

The satin coat is drying on the main fuselage and once it's dry I'll pop the canopy off and get on with the armoured screen, compass and photoetch that's still to go in.

After that there are the flaps, flap indicators and the IFF thingy on the underside to fit.

Getting there I think.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

This looks good now with the decals on.  Nice work on the details and I like your method of holding the tyres for painting, I may nick, ahem borrow that.

Great work Alistair

Chris

Nick away young man.

I may have borrowed the idea from elsewhere. I honestly can't remember but I do know that it's a great way of recycling the packing peanuts you get with a ColourCoats delivery.

Coming along very nicely Alistair.

Nice idea on using the "peanuts"

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

I did the same thing when painting the cowling on the Vega and as the tyres were separate from the hubs figured it might work on them too.

Alistair

Your support has been fantastic.

Edit: Just realised I haven't painted the Navigation Lights.

I'll get round to that after I go and do an Airport Run.
