Super build and finish, absolutely 100% a Hurri and could easily pass for 48th scale.

You mention you used a Flory wash so did you do this as the last process after applying the final varnish coat? The reason I ask is that as I used a Flory wash on my last project and when I then applied the final matt varnish coat it all disappeared!

Regards

Colin.

Thanks very much Colin,

The wash was applied after a gloss clear coat over the decals. Once dried I just wiped off with a dry kitchen towel and then the matt coat over the top.

Hope that helps.

Superb work, Alistair, and a beautiful result. Of course! Its a great scheme, and Hurribombers are a bit unusual, so its an all-round jolly :goodjob:

Alistair,

Many thanks for the reply re Flory washes. I did exactly the same as you but when I applied the final matt coat the effects/grime just disappeared completely although the kit itself had raised panel lines and no recesses for the stuff to sit in so that may be the reason. I'll give them another go on my next project which is a far more modern kit (the SH Bf109E) but I also found that if you rub too hard it can remove/chip the decals even though they were coated with an enamel varnish.

Regards

Colin.

The raised panel lines certainly wouldn't help. I think that may have been the problem but I'm no expert.

You need to watch with decals even though they are coated as it's only the decal adhesive that's holding them down so you need to be careful around them.

I've done that as well.

This Hurricane looks excellent! You did a great paint job and achieved a perfect finish.

Thanks very much,

That is extremely kind of you.

Credit for the paint must go to ColourCoats. It is fantastic stuff and completely idiot-proof.

Cheers,

Alistair

Wow, that is lovely!  Looks great in the desert colors!

Thanks so much.

It's the Azure Blue that gets me as it's such a beautiful colour.
