Angus Tura
Hello. It is pretty difficult to compare with some of the masterpieces on this forum. This is a model from the February 2021 Blitzbuild with which I thought I couldn't possibly DNF, as it only has one part...but I still DNFed! I was inspired by the first, post-apocalyptic meeting of IPMS Wakefield yesterday to finally paint in the wake. This is the OKB Grigorov "Sea Shadow". I used one reference: www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/news/features/history/sea-shadow.html I have done a tiny bit of construction. The molded middle hatch on the spine should be a vent, so that has been carved out and a little brass rod put in as a splitter plate. The window molding is very heavy for 1/700. So, that has been filled and the windows made-up from a black stripe decal. The prow should go straight down into the water without the kink but unfortunately I only realised this too far into the build/paint to go back. That would have been an easy fix. It's painted with Gunze Mr.Color Extra-dark Sea Gray and oil washes. The name plate is MS Word printed at 2-point printed in black on decal paper and then applied onto a sprayed white background. The seascape was really what I wanted to try in this. I followed David Griffith's instructions in "Ship Models from Kits." So, that is watercolour paper with Galleria modelling paste wake, acrylic paint, Galleria gloss medium waves and very light blue-green wake. Thanks for looking Alan
Adm Lord De Univers
Simple model as you say, but extremely well executed, weathering top notch and loving the sea base. David
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Alan, she's hardly a beautiful vessel, and does look rather sinister, but the weathering and the sea base are very good. What would be the length of her, please? Regards, Jeff.

darthspud
I can almost feel James Bond throwing the bad guys off the back. Very nice little build.
