I would say "more than" the Takom offering, but a lot will depend on the importers, shipping etc.

Using their Panther D as a comparison (both companies produce one), the Meng UK RRP is £45 and Takom is £70, IIRC the Meng one doesn't include the interior, so if the same pattern follows with the Chieftain, you could be looking at the same kind of price differential. (Conjecture!)

Probably a no for me on that basis, but will wait and see what the inevitable comparisons to the Takom kit say.

Yeah, saw that too, I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not. Most of that price will no doubt be the cost of shipping it from China and importing into the UK.

I've heard that shipping container cost is now about 4-5 times what it was.
