rodenlee
Hi all A slightly odd request...I am considering converting a built 1/48 Hasegawa F-4G to a German F-4F. From what I can tell, the major visual differences are a different nose and fin tip. I can probably sort out the fin but the nose profiles are completely different. Has anyone ever seen an aftermarket 1/48 F-4E/-F nose in their travels? Thanks for any thoughts you may have. Cheers Shaun
exdraken
I think the nosecone is the same, no? Just the gunnozzle being replaced with some sensor on the G. Maybe you can sand it back
scotthldr
In real life I would imagine that the actual radomes were the same, and only the forward part of the under nose fairing would have been different. However the way Hasegawa has moulded the parts in scale form they are very much different. Both kits share the common fuselage halves, so you could try and order the specific ‘E’ radome sprue (‘K’, I think it is).
Jens
You will also need to change the tail fin tip and aft cockpit. Jens
Julien
The nose cones are the same, its only under the nose which is different. As mentioned though the way the kits are moulded would be difficult to do. Maybe try someone who has used a different radome ? and get the old one of them? Ben Brown
If you can’t find a Hasegawa F-4F kit at a decent price, pick up an E and add some unslotted stabilators from Hypersonic. Ben
