Scott Viking 1 - King and Queen visit RAF Thames in June 27th 1941 - Help please

Hello,


We are doing our single trainer glider series. We have done 11 models out of 23 so far. I have posted our progress in the Ready for inspection site.

 

 

My Father has started to build two Scott Vikings 1 from scratch in balsa wood. One will represent the glider used to perform the aerobatic performance during the King and Queen visit RAF Thames in June 27th 1941.

 

Here is the progress made so far.

Thank to Peter Chamberlain we were able to see the film ('All the Kings Horsa's' done by Lawrance Wright) were I took this screen shots.

I never seen this type of black "stripes" over the yellow undersides. I wonder if it is a light effect.

My father is building the quite fast so any piece of advice will be highly appreciate.

 

The second model will represent this gliderused by air cadets to learn engineless flight in february 1944 at St Merryn Royal Naval Air Station.
