Citadel Liquid Green Stuff problem

AltcarBoB

Recommended Posts

I was told in the model shop that Liquid Green was the best thing for filling joint gaps particularly wing roots. I bought a jar of it and opened it a few days later, I seem to have a jar of gritty green porridge. Is it supposed to be like this or does it need any water adding.

It's water soluble and good for small gaps and blemishes.

If it needs a bit of thinning a drop or two of water should help.  I take a small amount out of the pot and mix it to the consistency I'm looking for.

I thin mine with 'Astonish', which is like the famous 'Kleer'

This makes LGS brushable and water-proof when dry, thus I can wet sand it.

I use it as a final filler, to fill in any minor scratch marks, its really too thin for major gap filling

A follow up.

I thought I'd show youse how I use LGS

As a filler after rough sanding, I brush it on with an ordinary paint brush which I wash out as normal in my jar of 'paint brush restorer'

Then when the LGS is wet-sanded using a very fine grade of wet & dry paper it gives a very nice surface for a silver paint job, which as we all know, shows up every imperfection
