Ralph
V.interstesting picture. Is this something happening now or is this from a few years back? Would have thought the Phornux missiles would have been time expired by now?
exdraken
Interesting, definitely! On 8/11/2021 at 10:27 PM, Ralph said: Would have thought the Phenix missiles would have been time expired by now? Question is if the rocket motor is the time expired part, the batteries or else! Not reliable for combat not automatically means I can't be used as a target to shoot at! I always wonder why the Eagle never got the long range Phenix capability...
darthspud
Surely AIM120B/C make this 70s tech all but redundant?

Hmm even the Sparrow is still used operationally by high tech airforces like Israel's.... Phenix was used until 2003?
F-32
Cheap drones I guess, they've already been paid for and it's not as if the 'Cats need them anymore.
bushande
No drones or the like. Was used as a hypersonic testbed by NASA: https://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/history/pastprojects/Phoenix/phoenixmissile.html
Giorgio N
I've long desired to build a NASA F-15, now I know how to configure the model ! Plenty of spare AIM-54s in the stash, just need to sort all features of the aircraft and pylons
