F-19 Stealth | Italeri 1:72

Recommended Posts

F-19 Stealth in 1:72 scale from old Italeri kit.

Instead of proposed paint schemes, I went for F-22 look, including the slight metallic sheen observable on the Raptor.

I built this kit in 1991.

Same here - I first built this as a little kid in early nineties, but that model is long gone now😀

Then few years ago I stumbled upon a mint-condition set on Polish equivalent of eBay, with a price of maybe 10 Euro?

Also, only now have I noticed that the main landing gear comes from F/A-18🤔

Really nice to see this kit built up. Might even be the first one I've seen. Great work! Looks fantastic!

Used to be a dab hand flying the F-19 over Libya on my Amiga 500 back in 1990 courtesy of Microprose. Great sim for it's day.

That and the F-29 Retaliator by Ocean Software, although it was 286 PC in my case :)  I actually did a model of Grumman X-29 few years ago, maybe I'll post it here as well.

Very nice overall, and the F-22-style paint scheme suits it.

Now you'll have to go looking for the other "F-19" kit as a mate for it. I think it was by Monogram and it was based on a fictional futuristic aircraft originally designed for  a series of trade advertisements (in magazines like Aviation Week and Space Technology) for an avionics/systems company -- it was so long ago I can't remember who, but I do remember seeing the kit box and thinking, "I recognise that!"

@Tarkas To be honest I buy models basing on their looks, rather than creating some kind of "theme" collections. If it looks "cool" to me, I buy it :)

I still got "MiG-37" from the same era which I guess can supplement my F-19. I am thinking of a making it in old MiG-29 grey-green paint scheme.
