Hunter F6 229 OCU unusual marking

I just spotted this photo on fleabay and noticed the aircraft number repeated on the nose - not something I've seen before. I'm much more used to the squadron badge on the nose or insignia each side of the roundel. The photo is dated Septemer 1969 - does anyone know how long this marking style was used please?

It's not a Hunter from Chivenor, it belongs to No.4 FTS Valley.

A case of "Don't believe what's written on the back."!

XF509 -survives to this day. Was at Fort Paul (Hull) and is now destined for eventual display at the Humbrol Hobbies facility in Margate.

XF509 is depicted in thee markings in the Airfix 1/48th kit.

Especially when the serial on the photo is XG185! Whoever wrote the caption really needs an eye test......
