Arado 234 B-2 8 KG 76

Recommended Posts

Hello all. Here is my rendition of the Arado 234 B-2 from Hasegawa. It took me longer than usual because I have used the very nice Aires cockpit and wheel bays, some part of the CMK set showing the fuselage tanks, and also because it was important to protect all the transparencies from any blemish or scratches as this is one of the main attraction of the first Jet Bomber in aviation. As a matter of fact one is obliged to glue the undercarriage legs before the painting and it is not the best of things. The plane belongs to the 8/ KG76 and participate in some bombing missions on Antwerp and Bruxelles and on the Remagen bridge as well. Camo is RLM81/82/76 from Mr Color lacquers, markings are made with masks. Thanks for your comments to come, bye for now.

Hi Jean,

it turns out fantastic. All these special details….really nice and I believe that this one isn’t build in one day.
A rare bird so appreciate to see that one here.

thx for sharing

Andy

Lovely looking Ar 234, it looks like it was pretty complicated build to say the least. Then you've done a really good job on the colour scheme. I know from experience that the glazing can be difficult to get correct on this kit, also while the aircraft is quite a simple shape it doesn't lend itself to painting when it's build. Well done Zigomar.

Great build Jean, a superb finish on this. I have the Dragon one in 1/72 tucked away, this will be a help with that. I must ask though, what is with the soft fronts on the underwing stores?

Steve.

Hello Steve ! Those are the parachutes used to collect the RATO after take off. I have also added te release cables which are attached to the underside. Best regards to Kiwiland.

Thanks Jean, I don't think I knew about the Jato thing, at least not that I recall. :D I don't know if my Dragon kit has them but I think it is the same unit as yours, the boxart has them attempting to bomb the Remagen bridge. I'll need to check.  Thanks for the good wishes, we're doing good out here, a mild winter & no covid, (just now) All the best to you & yours. :)

Steve.

PS. Checked & it does. Woo Hoo. :D
