Three were still attached to their rigging wires (thank goodness I attached the wires close to the struts!) and one had vanished. I re-fitted those three, then spent a very pleasant five minutes grovelling on the floor looking for my wood coloured 1cm long strut in the orangy-brown coloured fluffy carpet. It did not feed the carpet monster, I managed to retrieve it safe and sound, and is now fully cemented back in place. Congratulations! You have passed the 'make it fly then grovel' test. Now your skills are complete. BTW, it used to be quite common to have varying degrees and shades of dissolved glue washing about on old transfers, back when they were new. Very common on Modeldecal sheets, but being very lazy I found that it almost always dried clear. Paul.

Ray S
Hello all. Today I managed to get the rest of the rigging done, no problems whatsoever. No non-sticky CA, no tremors in my hands, no flying planes from the bench! It was at this point I noticed that I got the wheel track slightly too narrow, after I had CA'd the wheels on tight. It is too late to adjust, but they are one wheel-width too far inboard on both sides. Ah well. It seems to sit okay though: Since I took that photo, I have rigged the wing control horns and the wires from the control surfaces top and bottom wing. I am really finding it difficult to unravel the AmmoMIG rigging thread from the card, but at least I have got it all done for this model anyway. It is too expensive to throw away... None of my plans showed the control cables going onto the elevators aft, so I left them like this. My updated list: 1 - refit the cabane struts (if they come out okay) - DONE 2 - refill wing holes - DONE 3 - paint - DONE and varnish the top wing - DONE 4 - add the final transfers - DONE 5 - add the wing control horns DONE 6 - rig it - DONE 7 - add the wheels and retouch the paintwork - DONE 8 - add the tailplane struts - AT PRE-PAINTING STAGE 9 - add the pitot tube to the port forward strut 10 - make and add the wings hoops 11 - Orange varnish the prop and fit. There is a new No 11, in view of the fact that I forgot something (I told you I forget things!), but it was blindingly obvious when I just looked at those photographs! Doh. Not much left now, but that is all I can do for today. Thanks for looking and the comments and likes, Ray
Ray S
Well, this Bristol Scout is now finished. I got the last touches done today. The under-wing hoops were made from fuse wire which I wrapped around a suitable sized brush handle to get the shape. I made the pitot tube from .33mm nickel silver rod, and used thin silver-coloured speaker core wire for the wire down from the pitot to the lower wing. Tailplane struts were spare plastic rod, and the prop was varnished with Revell Clear Orange acrylic (2 coats) and the prop boss was painted with Humbrol 129 and stuck on back-to-front, which makes it the right way round now. Anyway, here are three images of the completed model, I will pop some different ones into the Gallery. I know this model is a bit of a compromise and that there are some errors, but I am quite happy with it, and all in all it was a lovely little kit to build. Thanks to all who contributed their knowledge and helped me out, and also for all the encouragement given too. Thanks for looking, Ray

Greg Law
Well done getting it over the line. The rigging looks very tidy, not easy to do.
